What the hell is the problem with repairing I 10 in Fla between tallahassee
and pensacola. Dang road already beat up the boards in 2 of my galaxy radios
and screwed up the alignment on the tractor.
Get off your asses DOT and get the dang road fixed!!!!!!

I think it has something to do with the swampy land. Louisiana can't
build a road to save their soul either. :)

Joe:

If the DOT could care less about reducing a speed limit in a residential area
where there are small children waiting for their busses and BOTH trucks and
CARS fly by at oooooh let's just save OVER 55 MPH and it's POSTED 35, why
should they care about repairing the road???

Frankly, write to them... I did and do everytime something with the roads burn
my butt, and get the "same old" well it isn't in our priority or on our list of
repairs for this year... Yeah ok....... let's see one of your high faluting
limos, or personal autos get torn up and you get to deduct the repair, and then
you'll fix it.....

Let's see now just WHERE do our tax dollars go???? Where do our GAS taxes go??
Ummmmm Weren't they supposed to be going for ROAD IMPROVEMENT?? UMMMMMMMMM yup,
that's what they said...... and WE BELIEVED THEM....

That's not exactly true. LA built a good interstate in the 1950s and
they're waiting for it to wear out before the rebuild it. There is a 100

As I recall....the only 'smooth' sections of I-10...were the
bridges....

But, Scott, isn't 1-49 fairly new? It's not as smooth as it should be
in my opinion. I love I-10 anyway--my favorite road in the
country--it's "enchanting" in a scary way sometimes. :) Ya never know
what you're gonna see on I-10. I just wear a super-extra-heavy-duty
support bra. :)

I don't think it has anything to do with swamps. It has to do with money.
They can build good roads to withstand heavy truck traffic and last a long
time. It's just that they don't want to spend the money to do so.

Anyway, there's a section of I-10 in FL that is really bumpy, but it reminds me
that my exit is approaching (US-19). Which reminds me, has anybody else went
that way through Montecello, FL? I tried to take a picture of the road sign
depicting a cop writing a ticket to a 4-wheeler, but it came out too small. I
think that's the neatest road sign I've seen. And, the circle around the
courthouse there is always an adventure in a conventional with a 53' trailer.

And another thing. I-10 in Mobile while pulling a HazMat load. The signs
direct you to a bypass around the tunnel, but the bypass signs run out around
half-way around, leaving you lost. Sheesh!

Amy.
In Louisiana, it's a matter of economics. By the time the "payoffs" are
made, they only have enough money left for half the cement. LOL

The Governor says he doesn't feel those bumps in his limo, so it's good
enough.

But not before or after. California has smooth highways (mostly) but they know
nothing about bridges. Example I40 across the desert from Needles to Barstow.

Don't you wish they'd build ramps up to the bridges instead of steps? ;-}

Actually, in Louisiana it is a matter of the sub-base being crushed sea shells.
They shortly dissolve into dust, therefore, no sub-base. Hence, the road
deteriates rapidly.

Well, if they would spend enough to buy adequate sub base, they'd have good
roads. ::::shrug:::::
