Well *this* subscriber, for one, is not amused.

MS might choose to offer minimal support for Win95... I can afford no such
luxury. Ditto NT 4. It's suddenly not good enough?

What "thought" process went into the decision to remove it?

I believe the only thing missing is NT and Win95. Which, I believe most (if
not all) of us has already have multiple copies of DVD/CDs for them. And I
am "guessing" that they are removed by mistake.

As for SQL Server, I believe the full ver is part of Back Office... Just
like they don't offer Proxy 2.0 on the Download site seperately because it
is in there too.

On a side note, whenever their programmers go at the MSDN site, they never
get it right the first time. And they never come to this group and ask what
we'd like. It is always like "Wham! Bam! Thank You Mam". We see the site
come down a day, the next day, the site is different :-) Not very
organize...

Oh, where is the Search feature? It's been gone so long that some of us
here don't know it exists at one point in the past... Give it back!!!

Hmmm

If you have the platform archive pack they are all in that? Or you will at
least have copies elsewhere. Microsoft normally only go back 2 OS's so that
NT4 is now going Win2K and WinXP and Win95 due to Win98 and WinME

If your customers have Win95 what parts are you missing? They are all in
older MSDN shipments - I have most copies of Win9x code on many CD's in many
forms OSR1 OSR2 etc

Well there's the funny thing. When I got the subscription, it had a little
slip saying, "If you want some legacy OSes in foreign languages, send this
to us and you'll get them". I sent it, but I got nothing in return.

That's cute, like I said. MS might only go back two versions. I don't have
that luxury.

I do not appear to have all the non-english versions. And it's quicker to
download Windows 95 (weighing in at about 30 Mbytes) than it is to find the
damn CD, cutting my hands open on the binders (the new style are even more
viciously sharp than the old ones, and the old ones were unpleasant) in the
process.
