I am in the middle of a heated argument as to the
gender of Tweety Pie. As the name, eyes and
eyelashes, suggest I think Tweety is a she. Others
say Tweety is male and can be referenced in some of
the earlier toons. Can anyone supply me with the
definitive answer?

Tweety is male. This can be seen in "I Taw a Putty Tat" where Tweety
wheres a sailor hat, or in "Bad Ol' Putty Tat" where Sylvester dresses
his finger as a female birdy and Tweety saws "I taut I taw a
<whistle>! I did! I did tee a <whistle>!!" and rushes over to romance
it.

In the latest employee newsletter, WB confirms that Tweety is a male.
(This was a topic that was brought up by some schoolkids originally).
They point to some of Clampett's original drawings and concepts and the
fact that Clampett said Tweety was based on an old photo of himself as a
baby...

And, hey, wasn't there a cartoon where Tweety actually fell in love with a
female bird which was actually Sylvester's claw dressed up? (Or will we
now see "Is Tweety a lesbian?" posts?)

Dear Steve,
Well, have you seen the old tweety cartoons? You know, the ones where
he is like a beige color. In those pictures I believe that it clearly
shows that he's of the male persuasion, especially when he says "Aww,paw
putty tat, he fall down and go BOOM!"
