The remix of "Unpretty" by TLC had a definite "Paid in Full" feel.
The jacket called this remix the "Don't Look any Further" mix.
The original is done by Dennis Edwards. (Found it on several comps
at CDNow.)
This may not be the exact Paid in Full bassline, but it's very
close.
(Anyone know what Ofra Haza has to do with any of this??)
(Remove "Baby" to mail)
I don't know the original but the Paid In Full remix is by Coldcut, who used
the same samples in mixes of "love it" by Society. They weren't the only
ones though, Bomb the Bass and Marrs both uh, mined the same
territory(actually used the same samples the same year)

Ofra Haza provided the wailing egyptian vocal on their mix of paid in full

Speaking of MARRS, she shows up (sampled backwards) on
Pump Up the Volume...

both right except it was an israeli vocal.
'Don't look any further' was covered a while back by M People.
Just to be a nerd the same bassline could be found on 'Not Paid
Enough' by Coldcut. It was basically the instrumental of 'Paid in
Full' and a dis to Eric B and Rakim for paying them fuck all for the
remix. Eric B and Rakim apparently didnt like the mix - it sounded
too 'gay' - but it was the mix that brought them to the mainstream in
the UK.

The mix that hit big was the vocal version - i can remember being in the
record store, when the promos arrived ! and i can clearly remember the vocal
mix blowing up !
