Looks like some kind of ripoff of Qix. Please don't post binaries btw.

It looks an awful lot like Qix, but it can't be because Qix only has two
colors (burnt sienna and turquoisish).

What do you mean 'i'm in big trouble'?

Anyway, i've found it - and it was Qix.
I just didn't know it only had two colors...

Thanks to you all...

It's against this newsgroup's policy to post binaries of any type or any
size to the group.

I guess you could call it red, but it looks sort of brownish.

If anyone's wondering (read: I feel like sharing information no one cares
about), the RGB coordinates are:

Red, AKA Burnt Sienna
R: 145
G: 36
B: 18

Blue-green, AKA Turquoisish
R: 0
G: 127
B: 127

It turns out blue-green is actually dark cyan. So sue me.

Sorry I posted a 2 KB gif.

Anyway, the game I wanted was Qix - and now I've got it.
(Though it just uses two colors).

I made the picture in Paint Shop Pro because it would be
easier to understand than if I tried to explain the game
in words.

I hope everybody is happy now...

Ther *major* problem that people have with binary posts to a NON binary NG
are twofold..

One, a LOT of people set their NG's to download all messages as default,
therefore they will be forced to download binaries they are unaware of.

And, more importantly, some ISPs will delete non binary groups that
continually have binaries posted on them as they are NOT a part of the
*binary* heirarchy.

It's as simple as that.... THINK for a bit before you throw out unwarranted
and unnecessary, knee-jerk, flamettes, huh?

(And try, if even for a second, to appreciate the sense of *community* that
this place tries to have, how's about it?)

The rebuttal to this is so obvious even you with your limited faculties
should be able to deduce it for yourself.

> And, more importantly, some ISPs will delete non binary

It's standard practice to filter the messages, not the entire newsgroup. I
have **never** heard of an ISP dropping an entire non-bin newsgroup because
of binary posts. I defy you to point to a single example.

> It's as simple as that....

The simple fact is that you're a dweeb with **WAY** too much time on your
hands.

> THINK for a bit before you throw out unwarranted and

Don't even bother trying to think, please. Just keep your melodramatic trap
shut.

"Sense of community" is not fostered by pubescent histrionics and
holier-than-thou lectures. Why don't you keep your thoughts to yourself
unless you have something constructive to contribute? How's about it?

Dear *Rest of the newsgroup* ....

I unreservedly apologise for even trying to engage this 'Skidiot' in even
the simplest *reasoning process* as to why NG hierarchies are set up in the
first place. (I mean Hell... how stupid of me to actually cite something
that has been in place for many many years. How ridiculous for me to
actually state ISP's TOS's and believe them.. how ludicrous of me to believe
that we who are friends here actually *do* feel that sense of Community or
to plead to the *better nature* of someone who quite obviously doesn't
*have* one

With hindsight, it was foolish of me to try.

I actually thought that 'Skidmarks' was just *new* to this and that he was
trying to *be cool* when he was involved in his Mame.dk *debate*, now I
realise that it is just a very foolish and that 'Skidope' is simply not
worth bothering with...

To those who have already K/f-ed this waste of espace, my apologies for
fostering his stream of semi-consciousness on you once more...

It shan't happen again..

I believe Mindspring deletes binary postings to non binary groups. At
least, the closest to a binary file that I ever see in my text groups
is the occasional Vcard.

Aren't filters wonderful?

At our University we drop newsgroups that contain too many binary posts.
We just don't have the disk space for it. So there you go. Now you know
a single example: University of San Diego. (And why in the world do you
post a message thinking it's going to be filtered out by ISPs, anyway?)

Thank you.

But it's pointless trying to actually *reason* with this.

But at least you *did* prove the apparent *single* point he needed
clarified. Maybe he won't be so quick to open mouth and spew in the future..
