We have certain software requirements that need to be met
to install software on our clients machine, is there a way
for me to determine if the .Net Framework is installed and
if so what is the latest version and where is it located.

We are using an older verion of wise and want to know if
this information is easily accesable in either the
registry or a location on the HD somewhere. If not what is
the best way to obtain it.

Thanks.

you could check the build checking for folder(s) in
C:\WINNT\Microsoft.NET\Framework
you should find a folder named : v1.0.3705

you could also check for the build number of mscorlib.dll.

finally, there mite be some useful information in the registry.

Erwan,
Tim asked how to determine if and where the .Net Framework is installed
(assuming he doesn't know the setup of his target machine). If he knew that
it was located in C:\WINNT\Microsoft.NET\Framework, then he wouldn't be
asking how to find it.

He also asked if there is a registry setting that contains this
information, so your advice that there might be some useful information in
the registry is silly too. We can assume that he already knows that there
might be some useful information in the registry or he wouldn't have asked
what and where it is in the registry .
