Microsoft has made available today "Go Live" licensing for the .Net Compact
Framework. Developers who use the Final Beta of Visual Studio 2003 (available to
MSDN Universal subscribers via download) to develop .Net apps for compact
devices can now sell or deploy their apps to customers even though VS 2003 is
not released yet. (The version of the Compact Framework in the Final Beta IS
RTM.)

Here are the steps:

1) Send email with the subject "send license" to
cfgo...@microsoft.com. Microsoft will send back the Go Live addendum to the
end
user license you agreed to with Visual Studio .NET 2003 Final Beta.

2) Read the addendum and if you agree, add the relevant info (name,
company, etc.) to the addendum.

3) Send it back via email with the subject "I accept" to
cfgo...@microsoft.com.

Once you have done that, you are good to go, and will be licensed to deploy
.NET Compact Framework applications to your customers.

That's a good head start.
