Knee surgery cleared up psoriasis on my knee

10 years ago, when I turned 30, I was diagnosed with psoriasis. Within 2
years, I developed symmetrical, half-dollar sized lesions on my elbows,
knees, thighs, and scalp that have been with me ever since. I regularly use
Dovonex and some cortisone-based creams to control the symptoms. The
lesions ebb and flow, but they've never gone away completely. And during
this time, the left and right sides of my body have always had symmetrical
lesions (that is, a lesion on the left side almost always has a counterpart
on the right side).

This summer, I had orthoscopic surgery on my right knee to remove some torn
cartilage. The surgery lasted less than 30 minutes under general
anesthesia, and the physically painful part of the recovery lasted about 2-3
weeks. The surgeon told me that my knee would likely be numb for several
months; there was also a chance that I might never recover all sensation in
the knee.

It has been 4 months since the surgery, and my knee is still partially numb
(I estimate that I have recovered only 20-30% of my normal surface
sensation). However, the psoriasis on that knee has totally disappeared!
There's no trace at all of any psoriasis on my right knee, but on the left
knee the lesion are as prominent as ever.

My conclusion is that there must be a connection between the remission of
psoriasis on my right knee and the fact that I do not have normal feeling or
sensation in that knee. Presumably, the surface numbness is interfering
with the immune system in that localized area.

If this is so, I wonder whether something like Botox (which causes localized
and temporary paralysis of nerve endings) might be an effective treatment
for some types of psoriasis?

Of course, the remission in my right knee could be coincidental. Who
knows...but it's an interesting anecdote just the same that I thought I'd
share

Im from Norway and have Psoriasis. I try a cream so have the name of
Psorisan, so a corp in Norway have. This cream is so far the best I have try
ever. And i amost good now. I recomand ewerybody to try this cream. I only
have the mailadress to this Corp.
