Terms and Conditions of Use for Google Groups
-Defame, abuse, harass, stalk, threaten or otherwise violate the legal
rights (such as
rights of privacy and publicity) of others.
Invading my privacy by posting personal links pertaining to me

Stalking me by following me into other groups I post in, that he had
never frequented, to spam the group with flames directed at me, under

His violations appear in messages 30, 32, 38, 40, 46, 49, 51, and 53

Fabricating more than one identity to harass me under.
His alter egos begin in message 30 and 32 as "Mark" and continue with
another "dragnet" in message 38 and 40, which he first denies (a
X-No-archive: yes posting quoted in message 46) and then admits in
message 49 of this thread

Perpetuating off topic flame wars that are nothing but highly personal
vitriol aimed at me, in an attempt to infuriate, defame and inflict
emotional distress and loss of confidence within me.

I am far, far, FAR from this troll's first victim, but his Usenet
legacy is a slippery one because he resorts to using the X-No-archive:
yes option. Any Google search on "Gondola Bob", however, will turn up
numerous flame war threads perpetuated by this notorious Usenet troll.

But he's not actually using Google - they're just archiving posts
made in newsgroups. He's posting through Earthlink according
to the posts that I can see on my newserver. So therefore, he's
not violating any of Google's conditions.

All looked pretty mild to me. If you still want to take action,
talk to his provider. You may have to get access to a real newserver
to get enough header info to do so - Google doesn't really cut it.

In other words, he has done everything necessary to keep his postings
from being archived by Google Groups.
You are aware, I hope, that Google Groups is an automated archiving
service that saves newsgroup postings collected from a wide
variety of sources? And that Google has to have their software
specifically collect postings -- that gondola bob is doing nothing to
request or trigger collection of his postings, and in fact has
taken steps to ensure that google does NOT collect his postings?
In no way is he using Google's service to do his postings, and
he doesn't *want* Google to save his postings. So he can't be in
violation of Google's Terms and Conditions.
Google does not control Usenet: it merely copies out the part of
Usenet that passes its way.
