This particular version might've been on a compilation cd, and I don't
know if it was actually released by Eurythmics as a single. It's a
slightly darker-feeling version of the song, and a very, very COOL
version of it as well... please drop me a line if you want to make an
offer or give me a lead on this one! Greatly appreciated as always!

This version is available on their "Greatest Hits" CD which was released
by Arista Records in 1991, and is available in stores. I have this one
in my collection, Personally, I prefer the original version better, and
was quite suprised when I bought the CD and found this remixed version,
since it didn't say anything about it being remixed on the package. It
was only when listening to it, I found that out. Is this the version you
are talking about?

Sounds like it might be...does it have some different, darker-sounding
background synths in the intro and chorus? That's about the only
specific thing I can remember about it. I do know that a CD single
was released in conjunction with the "Greatest Hits" CD with 4 remixed
versions of it with that version on it, but I didn't know it was on
Greatest Hits. Thanks for the tip, I'll pick it up and see if that's
the version I remember hearing.

Actually there could be a few mixes he could be talking about - the
Greatest Hits version is the same mix as the original Sweet Dreams 12" -
but also a different (new) mix was released called "Sweet Dreams 1991" -
this was an official E'mics CD single. The main mix was faithful to the
original just with a different "watery" synth sound - a longer 5 1/2
minute mix was made from this base version which can be found on the same
CD ... actually there were 2 CD singles - one with SD 91 and 3 previously
released songs and another with 4 mixes of SD. One of the mixes is about
8 minutes long and has more of a house/trance feel - some sax, and clips
of a voice saying "Behold here comes the dream" - this mix was done by a
fan and also appears on one of the "Angel" 12" singles (1990).
