Can anyone shed any light on a song I used to hear on the local fm
around 1971-2? It was folky with acoustic guitar and all I remember
of the words were "Colorado,Colorado la...la la la .la la la"( I'm not
thinking of any John Denver song.) It's been in my head for years and
of course the DJ was too hip to bother to ever say who it was.
thanks

Female singer? Steel guitar? If it had both, it might have been Linda
Ronstadt's "Colorado," from the Silk Purse album.

Might be the Steve Stills song "Colorado" from the "Manassas" album -
was about the right time, with acoustic guitar...."

Best wishes

Greeting from Colorado,
I believe you are speaking about the Danny Holien song.
In 1972, Danny released an album on Tumbleweed records,
out of Denver.(album #tws 102, single 1004)
The song starts slowly with "Colorado..Colorado..Colorado..
beautiful place that you are.."

"Feel the sorow,
of tomorrow,
before you go very far..

Listen to the calling of the wilderness,
crying for a human soul to feel,
looking for a love and natural tenderness,
sympathy for all things that are real.

California,
Come to warn you,
People are feeling estranged ...."

Hay-soose!!!!! I can't believe I typed those lyrics off the top of my
head after almost 25 years!!! Man, some of the things that stick in
your mind!

Now, if I can only find my car keys .....
