do the first three episodes, the clone wars, exist as books?

when were they written?

were they written by lucas?
-side question: lucas wrote episodes 3-5, right? other than
producing them as movies.

if they exist...will he be true to them in the upcoming films?

Star Wars: A New Hope: Written by George Lucas with an assist,
particularly in the Death Star infiltration scenes, from Willard Huyck
and Gloria Katz (His collaborators on American Graffiti and Indiana Jones
and the Temple of Doom).

Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back: Story by George Lucas, first draft
by Leigh Brackett, she dies, Lawrence Kasdan does several more drafts
including the final. It's documented that Harrison Ford altered at least
one line, that being his "I know" to Carrie Fisher's "I love you."

Star Wars: Return of the Jedi: Story by George Lucas, screenplay by
Lawrence Kasdan and George Lucas.

It was Episode 4, not 3, with which George Lucas chose to introduce us to
his superlative space fantasy. Reportedly, he chose to start the saga in
medias res because he felt the middle chapters would yield the most
positive audience response, that they were the most adventuresome and
exciting parts. Now, George Lucas has recently said the next trilogy,
the prequels, will have "all the action" of the first. We can breathe a
collective sigh of relief that George intends to _entertain_ us with the
next movies, and do something more eclectic or inaccessible.

Be glad you chose not to swear because you would have been caught in a
falsehood, my friend. The Clone Wars exist in no public, written form;
they rest only in George Lucas' mind and perhaps his notes/manuscript.
Lucas is a real stickler for trying his darnedest to surprise the
audience and he guards his secrets very carefully.

Not yet, wait for the prequels to come out.

See above.

They may be, when they come out. I dunno though.

I presume you mean 4-6? ANH is 4, ESB is 5 and ROTJ is 6.
If you mean he came up with the storylines, yes, but apparently, though
ANH (the novel)is credited to him, it was actually written by Alan Dean
Foster.
The novel of ESB was written by Donald F. Glut and the novel of ROTJ was
written by James Kahn.

Well, Lucas has had ideas for the prequels since ANH. And presumably the
prequels will fit with what we already know (from the original trilogy).
However, what the prequel storylines will actually be is up to Lucas.
Only he really knows.

Hope this helps out. As far as I know this is correct. If it isn't, no
flames please, just polite correction.
