[Sith War 2002] Rebuilding

Giant PDA, the Jedi Hacker waited for the shuttle to come get him.
Meanwhile, he planned his next moves. Between ion storms from the
orbiting death star and enemies around every corner, he needed some
upgrades. He climbed into the ariving craft and immediately took off
again. No doubt it had attracted attention he could little afford at
the moment.
Even as he dimounted from the small craft he gave the order, depart
RASSM planet for the local asteroid belt. He'd need materials, and was
hoping to avoid a fight until preparations were made.
First order of business was a new body for himself. The current one had
been made as a spy unit, not a battle droid.
Next would be to build some star skimmers and adapt weapons to them.
Shaped like a flattened toroid, something like a doughnut on a diet,
mirror finished belly, flat black topside. Enveloped in a magnetic
field strong enough to turn aside a stellar flare, ion cannons would be
no problem. Conventional turbolasers could still be a problem. As for
weapons, the same magnet that provided protection also presented
problems. Ion and turbolaser cannons would backfire badly, unless
placed in the sorely suboptimal 'doughnut hole'. Torpedoes would tend
to self destruct traversing the field at high speed. Best option on
short notice would be droping grenades.
As for the Giant PDA itself, a shielding field coaxial with the main
cannon would be fitted. Hopefully the focusing problems could be dealt
with.
A certain droid would have to be reprogrammed.

Meanwhile, the polyhedral death star continued repairs as it climbed
into firing position.

moment.
