Hey Gang,

I cruised to T-Wall Sunday for the first time of the season.
Facing South, it's a winter crag. I caught up to Terry and Dave and
jumped right onto a 5.10ish face that's not in the guide. Fun and
pumpy!
Next I led In Pursuit of Excellence 5.9, one of the choicest
dihedral cracks I've ever been on. It was definitely "T-wall 5.9", very
sustained for the grade. I took one little whipper but enjoyed the heck
outa the route. The last 30' up and out the roof is sweet.
We then did Jaywalker, a three star 90' 5.7, to access
the top anchor of Finger Locking Good, an incredible 5.10b/c finger
crack that looked too thin to attempt an onsight. Yeah, I know, we
shoulda went for it, but we were pumped! Anyway, we all made it on
toprope, so it'll be a goal for a near future redpoint.
The whole weekend was awesome. I caught some good sized Bass
fishing on Lookout Mtn., and found a couple of boulder problems right
next to the pond. I found myself pulling up onto a hellacious mantle
move, my left foot up even with my chest, rocking up and over, barely
making it, ten damn feet up with my hiking boots on! Sheesh! The spots
I get myself into without a spotter!
Well, I hope you all had a great weekend too. This weekend we
will be heading to the Tsali Mtn.bike trails in Murphy N.C.,to check out
the changing colors of the leaves. I'm keeping the road hot with my new
cragwagon! Yee Hah!
