Am I the only person who noticed the slam against DINOSAURS in this episode?
I took the comments of the Simpsons to mean that Matt Groening and gang felt
that DINOSAURS really _IS_ just like they took their lives and put them on
screen...as in dinosaurs plagarizes the simpsons, at least to a degree.
Or did I mis-interpret this?

I didn't think that at all. "Dinosaurs" is nothing like "The Simpsons."
If anything, it seemed to me to be a compliment to "Dinosaurs."

It's definitely a slam. Note all the similarities mentioned "Look, Maggie,
they have a baby too!" and the fact that they used Nancy Cartwright's
voice (and a prehistoric version of Bart's motto "Don't have a cow, man!")
for the Bart-dinosaur. "Dinosaurs" isn't all that blatant a ripoff of
the Simpsons, IMHO, but the fact that the writers obviously think so is
pretty cool.

I agree. At first I thought they were slamming "Dinosaurs". Then I
remembered that "Dinosaurs" really doesn't resemble "The Simpsons" much
at all. (Sure there are *some* similarities.)

Nope. As I said in an earlier message, when I saw that scene, I thought

Exqueeze me? It's totally like "The Simpsons"! A working-class family,
cartoonish, comedy, sitcom-style, slobbish father, totally normal mother,
three children (oldest boy, middle girl, plus a baby).

Dinosaurs strikes me more as a prequel to the Flintstones with more kids. I
*did* enjoy seeing it satarized though. :-) Another reason why I keep comming
back again and again to The Simpsons. Thanks Matt!

i think that they were taking a lame show, "The Dinosaurs", and using it to
slam other shows on TV that are even worse.
Homer says something like, "I wish other shows on TV were as realistic as
this."
