Yeah, I had to look. Found that they have a Lost World. Looks not too
dirty, priced at .50/1 or 1.00/3, so I fed it a buck (had to use the change
machine, no bill acceptor). Found that it's sort of playable. The flippers
kinda suck, but they work. Legs are loose. And, what's this? No discernible
tilt mechanism...? So, that makes the game harder (lousy flippers) and
easier (cannot tilt, no matter what you try...), so call it about even.
Played a couple of balls and got another surprise. After a slap-save, the
backbox swung open, as parts of the lock mechanism bounced off the
playfield glass. I lost the ball. The kid at the counter didn't seem to
care, so I closed the backbox and used part of the lock to wedge it closed.
Played the remaining ball, and one more game, then had to go. I left the
last credit, hope some kid played it off.

The fact that they call the arcade "Tilt!" but have only one old pinball
machine is interesting. They apparently want the imagine of pinball machines
being associated with their business but they really don't want to have to
actually fool with having pinball machines in their arcade. It's sort of like
a restaurant using the name "The Surf and Turf Restaurant" but only serving
corndogs and instant iced tea. ;-)

The loose legs and busted backbox lock.. great stuff.. sounds like
they found one of my beater machines and put it out for play ; )

I guess "Nickels & Dimes" needs to update its corporate name to
something more contemporary like "Vertical Upstackers". ;-)

It's in the same place as Aladdin's Castle... up by Field's. I never
thought the arcade could last very long, as the games are all either
crap OR in crappy condition. My wife and I always walk in there hoping
to see something new or something fun.
If you need an arcade fix in that area... head a mile or so east on
Aurora ave to Brunswick Zone. (near corner of aurora and Odgen ave).
They've got a Austin Powers, High Speed 2, Dodge Viper and T3... not
to mention quite a few vid games.

I seem to have picked up some more. You should see my Solar Fire and
BK2K. You gotta be careful not to shake them very hard while playing.
What can I say about Texas but that it's HOME. I miss my buds back in
Atlanta but this is where I needed to be. Hopefully soon to be back
in Houston and have my stuff set up instead of in storage. As it is I
can only cram 6 machines maximum in this place and that involved using
a forklift to get 3 to the 2nd floor.
And hey, the machines you got from me weren't all that bad! : )
Well, OK, maybe the Firepower cabinet that got caught in the fire..

If you go in through the Sears, it's on your right as you enter the

the lock mechanism. ;-)

Yeah, I remember that. This one's on the first floor.
