As a gift to the worldwide computer graphics community, the Dutch
company NeoGeo decided to publish their (SGI) 3D design and animation
software. Try it! It's freeware and a 100% original product.

Being the in-house software of a high quality animation studio,
Blender has proven to be an extremely fast and versatile design
instrument. Use Blender to create TV commercials, to make technical
visualizations, business graphics, to do some morphing, or design
user interfaces. You can easy build and manage complex environments.
The renderer is versatile and extremely fast. All basic animation
principles (curves & keys) are well implemented.

Is NeoGeo totally insane? Not really! Some of the most recent and
advanced options have been disabled. (Realtime game design with
dynamics, collision detection, actors and sensors. The plugin system,
the library system, network rendering).

Currently Blender is available for SGI with Irix 5.3. (R3k or R4k) or
Irix 6.2 (R4k, R5k). You can find it at:

Oops! I forgot to include the static library in the 5.3 version. I'm
sorry for that. It should be solved in version 1.21 now available at
the download page.

Have fun.

Frank.

Same problem here... Indy/Irix 5.3, so I'd been reproduced :)

App looks VERY promising however :) Can't wait to get a full
look at it!

This version works _fine_ on my indy R4400 IRIX 6.2 !
Guys at NeoGeo, your program is FANTASTIC !
Thank you very very very much for releasing that thingy !
It gave me just a feeling like good old amiga times.

It makes it possible for people to test and play
with the 3d world without spending thousands $ for
adequate products. Thank you !
Well, the manual and tutorial should be a bit better,
but .. hey .. no problem. i think someone picks up
this job out there. maybe me ? (after some practise :-)

I ask myself : if blender will still be developed in future ?
It's really worth it !

So are we, but our Amiga's haven't been used for years... Fortunately
blender still can read (and write) Amiga IFF's including Ham. Our
internal quick preview image format is called HamX and blender can
use Anim-5 animations as a texture. So we haven't forgotten our
Amiga's completely.

We do have a predecessor of blender for Amiga. It is called traces.
It was completely written in GFA-basic. And before you ask: No, we're
not going to release it.

I must admit it was hard to let our old Amiga's go. I think they have
found a worthy successor in the O2.

Sorry.
