Hi everyone. The last meeting got a lot of stuff done. Here's where
we stand now:

Upcoming Events:

*** Last Day to get in Deposit to go skydiving 9/26 *** This FRIDAY!!!
$40.00 required to reserve your spot. Victor, Saravit, Jim, Leah, and
Skip have already reserved their parachutes. The actual jump date is
Oct. 4th (Sat.) Call me at 689-1128 (home) or 632-6598 (Forum) for more
info.

*** Cataloging Barbecue 9/27 4:00p.m. *** This Saturday, help organize
tons of books, and get free food. What more is there to life?

Regularly Scheduled Events:

*Wednesday nights at 8:30p.m. SF4M meetings

*First Wednesday of every month, Officer Luncheons

*Wednesday nights after the meetings, t.v. night -- lately staring
"South Park", but also including all the new sf and fantasy shows
available

*Thursday nights @ about 8:00p.m. is movie night.

This Week's Meeting resulted in the following:

The movie rented at the previous week's movie night, "Joe's Apartment",
was still missing and BlockBuster will be charging us $30.00 for this.
We discussed security procedures to help to assure that this doesn't
happen again. IF SOMEBODY TOOK IT AND LEFT IT IN THEIR DORM VCR - IT'S
NOT TOO LATE TO RETURN IT.

We subscribed to:
Cinescape (1 year)
Starlog (1 year)
Science Fiction Chronicle (2 years)
Realms of Fantasy (1 year)
Marion Zimmer Bradley's Fantasy (1 year)
Locus (1 year)
Analog (1 year)
Heavy Metal (3 years)

We became members of the official Babylon 5 Fan Club.

A new book buying run will be happening very shortly.

Rich Jacobs donated a Battlestar Galactica game to the Forum.
Rich Hutter brought down books left with him from another professor.
The Jim donated a large "Low Flying Plane" sign.
Daren Brown donated various posters.

Other news:
JC has been publishing an excellent newsletter, recently renamed
"Tubenacht". He brings it in on TV night if you want to read a copy.

We had a guest visit us last Tuesday from Britain named Matt Freestone.
He was visiting New York, and after locating our web site at
www.sf4m.org, decided to stop in to meet the crew. He came bearing
gifts of science fiction from across the pond, including: Phoenicians,
InterZone, Matrix, Vector and Banana Wings. Thanks for stopping by
Matt!

The President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary all attended
polity's ConClave this weekend.

I hope to see everyone soon,
Jennifer
