***********************************************
NASA never sent men to the Moon. "They couldn't
make it so they faked it". That's what they did.
***********************************************

Flags fluttering in the high-desert breeze, sand
buggies & actors running along in their deflated
monkeysuits-obviously recorded on highspeed film,
conspicuous absence of blast craters, impossibly
silent running under invisible exhaust emissions,
laughably obvious backdrops that contrast sharply
against the nearby high-desert terrain, etc. etc.

Obviously, the directors/producers of nasa's "men
to the moon" movies went to great lengths to make
certain that anyone who watches their movies, and
scrutinizes their photographs, also considers the
intense radiation of the Van Allen belt and up to
TWO- MILLION MILE-PER-HOUR RADIOACTIVE SOLAR WIND!
beyond the safety of the Van Allen belt, they made
sure anyone can see the whole thing was a big fake.
I'm reminded of the song "might as well be walking
on the Sun", i.e. the radiation would've fried 'em.

Be sure to bookmark & study these fact-filled links.
The evidence proves irrefutably that NASA are liars,
and not very good liars at that. They are found out:

OK, now you guys are really starting to scare me. The thing was
only a page long. I am not suggesting that you are protesting too
much or anything like that, I mean why would people go through
all that trouble, why would we even bother to have a space
program at all, if there was nothing out there in space.

I mean really.

Of course there are stars, and planets and stuff. What are
you afraid of that the illusion will somehow dissipate and we
will find ourselves in some terrible reality? I mean get real.

I visit other realities in dreams all the time. People
have lucid dreams and visions and there is all sorts of
proof that other realities exist. Nice ones. Filled
with happy smiling people.

Sheesh.

For the facts, see the various links at:
http://www.badastronomy.com/bad/misc/apollohoax.html

I was a kid, but I lived through it. I followed every development, watched
every launch, stayed up all night to watch the missions. I saw photos taken
through amateur telescopes of the spacecraft 100,000 miles out en route to
the moon, and photos of the earth that could only have been taken from that
distance. I've seen the moon rocks, talked with scientists, seen the results
of rock analyses. Experiments left on the lunar surface returned results for
years afterwards, and the laser retroreflectors are still there being used
to measure the distance to the moon.

Space travel is dangerous. They could have died on the moon - President
Nixon even had a prepared statement just in case the LM engine failed to
fire and the astronauts were stranded on the lunar surface. They did receive
significant doses of radiation and experienced physical effects of zero-G.
They reentered the atmosphere at the speed of a meteor and could have
disintegrated if the trajectory was wrong. They did it all with 1960's
technology. Make no mistake - they were braver men than you or I will ever
be.

It's a crime that the U.S. "education" system produces such IDIOTS that
would believe it to be a hoax.

I think James Randi said it best. Watergate involved about twelve
people, and they couldn't manage to keep it secret. A faked moon landing
would involve thousands of co-conspirators who not only managed to keep
it secret but are still all keeping it secret today.

I was a kid, but I lived through it. I followed every development, watched

Just curious. I know the Chinese have announced they will go to the
moon in ten years. Has anyone heard them say why? I mean I know it
might be one of those "because it's there" kinda thing. And I know the
U.S did it to beat the Soviets. But why, now? That's alot of money and
alot of risk for minimum payback.

<snip>

I'll give a couple of sample debunks. To give an idea of the sheer idiocy of
this.

I quote from the above paragraph:
---------
Impossibly silent running under invisible exhaust emissions.
--------
1. In a vacuum sound doesn't travel
2. The Lunar Rover ran on electricity

From the page:
http://www.apollohoax.com/

-----------
Look at how the background suddenly changes. The surface is all rough and
filled with rocks, and then in a straight line it just becomes all smooth
and no rocks appear anymore. I think that they took the picture and then
superimposed another picture with a smoother background.
---------
The accompanying photo is here:
http://www.apollohoax.com/c2.gif

The background looks smooth because it's much further away. If you look the
Rover is obviously parked near the brow of a hill.

You can see the brow of the hill much more clearly without the red graffiti
in this version of the same photo:
http://www.apollohoax.com/c.gif

I find it amazing that such obvious nonsense is believed. Still it's nice to
see NASA photos anywhere even with such silly red markings and captions.

would be proper Edmo memoribilia to sell?

Tweety Bird panties as headwear.
We could sell Ed's book repackaged as bird cage liner. [keep your

Come here one second please.

Stand right here. Thats right, now face the group. Thankyou
(Taking out his pointer...)

Now then, I would like to direct your attention to the
typical non-functioning consciousness of homo sapiens mentiri.

Due to an excess of vapors here, and here (pointing to the
frontal lobe area of the brain) the result of sitting too close
to the television set as a child, the subject is incapable
of what we refer to as rational thought.

The area usually reserved for the frontal lobe is now quite
hollow as you can clearly see by the hollow echo sound,
which results when I strike him HERE, (whack) with the pointer.
<<bock...>>

It is interesting to note, that in this primitive specimen,
a tendancy towards policing the system, or what we often refer
to as the FAQnazi syndrome, is quite common.

Also, as you can clearly see, from his comment above, he exhibts
the 'fear of wasted electrons'. However, this very fear, will
drive his sort on, to do the exact thing, which he despises
the most, to waste electrons himself.

You may rejoin the others. (whack!)

I've embarked on the definitive writing project to examine why all these
arguments are either merely ignorant, or deliberately deceptive, with the
hard data and examples to prove it. I'm collecting good websites and good
explanations posted on discussion groups, and all contributions will be
appreciated. The monograph should be published in late 2003 and will be THE
authoritative refutation of this nonsense -- thanks to the help iIve already

That's very interesting, Brad. I'll be sure to add your
url's to this ever-burgeoning list of fact-filled links.

Frankly the single and absolutely incontrovertible fact
that the radioactively-intense solar wind is sufficient
cause to wholly invalidate any and all claims ever made
of successfully sending men anywhere through and beyond
the likewise intensely-radioactive Van Allen Belt, that
glaring fact all by itself proves the "apollo" missions,
or any other allegedly manned missions into outer space,
all such missions could not possibly have occurred with-
out ultra-sophisticated, UFO-quality space technologies
in place. Now, unless JPL-NASA wants to fess up to such
superior "antigrav" or "zero-point" energy technologies
etc, then logic dictates that no manned missions beyond
Earth's own inner space have ever been successfully com-
pleted. Big brother can't cover up the Sun. Case closed
(okay maybe they can hide behind an asteroid in tow etc,
but no damn way in hades did NASA land men on the moon
with those cheesy little foil-wrapped LEMs, 'nuff said).

Ron Miller, who used to frequent this newsgroup, has already written a
manuscript. You may want to check with him before duplicating his effort.

I agree, those gullible folks like many on this newsgroup who are easily
taken in by the conspiricy theorists should have easily accessible
explanations of the tired old "evidence" going around...but this already
exists on many site on the web. But, for those hungry for some juicy
conspiricy theory, no amount of logic is going to sway them. I'm afraid it
is wasted effort in this society of sadly lacking science education. Just
look at some of the "evidence" put forth that is so easily explained by
anyone who knows a lick about photography, physics, rocketry, etc.

James, keep in mind, that 90% of Americans according to polls,
believe that the sun, revolves around the earth.

You will need to use large block letters in your posts and divide
the argument into two camps. Handing out sweaters that are one
solid color is also necessary.

On the back in large letters, should be initials at least.

Like IBWLOTM (I believe we landed on the moon)

and IDBWLOTM (For the non-believers)

This way, the people in your own camp, will not shoot you
in the back quite as often, by mistake.

Actually maybe the initials won't be sufficient, as it is likley
too confusing.

Just state clearly, in every post whether you are pro or con.

But use block letters, and place it at the beginning, as they
will base their remarks to your post on your being pro or con
at the onset.

Actally state it as so...

I BELIEVE WE LANDED ON THE MOON AND I WORK FOR NASA

Something like that.

Just some helpful advice.

So where is your mathmatical model that supports this?

Some numbers please.

Also cite some references to the studies that show this is true as well,

I wish I were good or at least better at writing. My efforts at
attempting to state what I perceive as a serious compromise, one
that's affecting why NASA can't budge on the "GUTH Venus" discoveries,
has been a difficult and disappointing phase of my research.

I've learned far more then I ever wanted to know about Club NASA and
their boss NSA/DoD.

I'll check out your work to see if there's something I've missed or
overshot the mark. If I've made any mistake, I want to correct that
becaust, it makes everything else so much more effective. NASA can
make lots of mistakes and get away with it, where you and I can't but
make one mistake, even syntax or spelling and it seems we're done for.

Looks like your message needs to be worder a little more carefully - I
understood what you meant, but it seems you have set off a lot of
trigger-happy troll hunters. I am personally looking forward to the book,
and for those of you who shot first and then read:

We landed on the Moon. James Oberg believe we landed on the Moon. The book
is about the kooks who think we did NOT land on the Moon, and the junk and
pseudoscience they use to buttress their arguments. It is a DEBUNKING book,
not a supporting book.

Oh, they got an answer to that as well. Unmanned landing. :) There is
no end to the contortions they go through...

But _which_ newsgroup are you speaking of?

I can understand JimO responding to the apollo-hoax troll...
It's a bit harder to understand a followup to that troll spamming the
originally trolled groups...

Or, in simpler terms, TRIM THE DAMN GROUPS ALREADY.

More than that, the society is missing critical thinking. Science
education is often understood to be learning *about* science, which is
fine, but not enough. Even when/if critical thinking is emphasized
(extremely rare) it is often presented as something that is useful
only in science, which is false. I would like to see critical thinking
encoruraged and practiced throughout the school year, in various forms
and shapes, from science to sports to TV to magic. Randi should be
required reading. Crop circles should be part of science and
mathematics curriculum. Psychic claims should be investigated in
physics class. Failed hypotheses, scientific blunders, hoaxes should
be studied alongside valid theories and contrasted. With the present
system, kids are trained to believe anyone who sounds important or to
any book that's published because they are only exposed to the
"correct stuff". Learning to differentiate between valid and invalid
is just as important as being able to parrot what's valid.

Hi Jim:

I think that would make for a very interesting project. HOWEVER...the
short answer to the "why" of the Apollo-never-happened crowd is one
little word:

L-O-O-N!

:-)
