For some reason ihug has decided to remove it from the newsgroups that they
offer. Given that it's a New Zealand newsgroup and ihug had been supplying
it ever since it was established a few months ago, it's hard to see the
reason for it's removal.

Well at 7:20am Dave Joll did a post in ihug general to say that he no longer
had it either.
Dave suggested that after the new server crashed (due to a power cut) ihug
used an old backup list of newsgroups.
If it's back on ihug, do a test post to it, and see how you get on. I've
had someone on both Paradise and ihug check it out (earlier), and it was a
no go on ihug.

It's not on mine (Ihug) at 10.00AM. I've lost all messages past a couple of
days ago when the server appeared to crash.
Bob Howard.
Thanks, Bob.

Oh dear, how sad, what a pity.
I can access it from the US ...

Better report it as a TOW violation - Maori are being kicked off their land in
cyberspace.
A
ihug has just put it back. I guess they've updated their list to the same
one before the news server crashed.
Thanks everyone for checking the group out.

Well if it isn't Scooter using his racial personality "ppp".
What a sad and pitiful creature.

Why?
Many/Most of the issues raised in the maori group are also
cross-posted, or at least also raised, in the nz.general group.
Many other potential nz.* newsgroups have been shot down purely
because most of the discussion could quite easily occur in nz.general.
This newsgroup was not shot down, purely because of the colour of the
skin of those submitting it. Surely that's more racist than "ppp"s
comment?
I wondered when this was going to happen. Thanks for proving me right.
You don't have much idea about Scooter's posting history.

A few messages are cross-posted, mainly because of posters
such as Carmen who cross-post original messages. Many other
messages originate only in nz.soc.maori.

Such as...?

What a load of absolute bullshit. The newsgroup nz.soc.maori
was proposed and voted on in exactly the same was as all other
recently (i.e. within the last five years or so) nz.* newsgroups.
The only other recent proposal I recall was been nz.tech
(which has just passed the voting process and I imagine would
be getting created on servers around the country in the next
week or so, if it isn't there already).
Get over your fixation with skin colour.

Sorry, but the spam is just getting a little too much...

Well said, Dave. The results of the vote are still there on Google for
all to see. The CFV was posted to
nz.net.announce
nz.net.admin
nz.general
nz.soc
soc.culture.new-zealand
35 voted in favour, 3 voted against, and no one called gurble voted
either way.
