A friend of mine is selling a 1959 Miestro Echoplex, working
condition, new tape, and decent cosmetic shape (8 out of 10)
condition. $600.00 plus shipping to Pittsburgh.

If interested, please email me and I'll give you his number.

Thanks in advance.

1959 Maestro....no such animal...Market Electronics maybe, but if it's
Black, it's late sixties or '70's, solid state and worth $175-$250.
The Green or Gray ones are tube and go for $450-$600

please don't insult our intelligence. Mike Battle (the inventor of the
Echoplex from Akron, Ohio) created his first prototypes in 1963. the
various models of tube echoplexes continued until 1968 or 69 when solid
state models began. Maestro (then a division of Gibson) licensed their
version some time after that; sorry i don't remember specifics but my
interactions with Mike were almost always regarding tube models.

in any case, you can date them with the codes on the two non-stacked
pots (usually CTS beginning with 137 and with a [wwyy] date code at the
end) since dates were seldom put in the box itself. i can guarantee
your pots aren't going to say "59" if they're original.

i think your price is ridiculous too, but i guess that's really for the
market to decide (and bear). maybe i should sell some of mine then?
sheesh...
