Hello,

This is R.W. Bivins from OlderGames.com and I'm posting to inform you
all that I'm putting the Alien -vs- Predator prototype on ebay! There is a
very low reserve and the buy-it-now is set at what I paid a few months ago.

This is not another crap pirate copy! This is the real deal prototype and
is one of two known authentic copies to exist in the world!

Anyone who feels the dumping of prototypes does not affect the value of the
"real" existing prototypes should be sure to watch this auction.

Let not start the dump vs not dump argement here. I don't care to hear it for
the 50th time this year.

I DO however feel that a prototype will decrease in value once its dumped but
many of you have argued against this. Here is a good example. Lets see what
happens.

He'd better put up a pix of the cartrige, or the bidding goes nowhere...

I wonder what ever happened to Super Mario's Whacky World's for the CDI.

Call me curious ("Hi Curious how are ya?") but I have a few questions to ask.
In the auction listing you state that this is the same A-vs-P that was avail.
at this year's CGExpo auction which did not sell. Your auction states that
you paid $740 it, you've set the Buy It Now at that price, and so far your
reserve has not been met. My questions are as follows:

* Do you feel that you paid more/less/about right for the game's value?
* Is there a reason you would pay top dollar and re-sell it so quickly?
* Even if you take a loss what's the floor level reserve you'd sell at?
* Any differences from the Jaguar version that are worth paying more for?
* On the whole was acquiring a rare prototype a satisfactory experience?

Hello,

I sold it to Frank Cifaldi at TheRedEye.net

and he is quite happy with the game. On my other owned copy
"that was my secret = I actually owned 2 LOL" Game Informaer
plans on doing a complete article with us on.>I wonder what ever happened to

Super Mario's Whacky World's for the CDI.

Correct. The bidding at the expo went up to $325 I think....
and my reserve was $500.

>* Do you feel that you paid more/less/about right for the game's value?

Less. It's origional price was about a thousand bucks.

>* Is there a reason you would pay top dollar and re-sell it so quickly?

Yes. A damn good one. It's going toward OlderGames and not me.
I will not discuss what the money is going toward however.

>* Even if you take a loss what's the floor level reserve you'd sell at?

$500... considering everybody knows what it is and that it's
one of 2 in the world. How many chances does one have to
get one of these (legitimate authentic protos) 2 copies?

>* Any differences from the Jaguar version that are worth paying more for?

Damned if I know. I haven't played the jag version.
You basically go on a bomb hunt in this one.

>* On the whole was acquiring a rare prototype a satisfactory experience?

Yes, but it's not like it's the only one I own LOL.
Read a couple posts back and someone mentions my
super mario's wacky worlds cd-i proto.. Fact is I'm known
for having rare stuff like that. =)

Gotcha. :)

Or so to speak, the price that the seller you got it from had set it at?
As is so commonly stated on this newsgroup (and about retrogaming I find
in general) a game is only actually worth what buyer and seller agree on.

LOL. Okay I wasn't questioning what it was for at all, that's your biz.
I mean it's yours, you have the right to sell it, I was more thinking it
was a quick re-sale because you thought either the value had appreciated
and you wanted to cash in, or you just decided it wasn't fun to play.

Not often, I have to admit. :)

Oh yeah, I forgot you were the one that had Wacky Worlds. Now if I had
a CD-i system, I'd pay top dollar for that prototype but since I +don't+
I just enjoy the reviews of it and the screenshots by those who have. :)
