Ooops, wrong subject line. My apologies.

mixed binaries. All the dll's now have similar date-time (23/April/02
15:4x). I have run this version for two days and it regularly (3 times so
far) stopped resolving queries (including local zones) without leaving any
error in the log. Dig returns "Connection timed out" whereas Statistics
Dump reports a lot of failures. Any suggestion please?

I see this also. I had to revert to Bind 8.33 on NT. The first
time I got "no more recursive clients: quota reached" so I bumped that
up to 20,000. Next, it stopped resolving external clients twice. I
was going to put on more diagnostics, it is not working well enough to
troubleshoot further. I don't know if it was resolving local clients
at the time.

I was told that there was a bug in Bind9.2.1 for Win2000/NT, when I
experienced similar problems.

I had to revert to 8.3.3
