Forget the open hand pull, as it is a waste of time. Learn the closed hand
version since it will give you a greater amount of control, speed and power.
Any solid player will be able to shut down the open handed pull because it will
lack consistancy in hitting the holes well (especially the splits) and has too
many tells. The open handed push is a different story because the motion is
different and is not so easily read by a goalie. There have been numerous
threads about these topics. Doing a google search may help answer any more

Thanks for the advice. I noticed that motion is different, and that the
reason why open handed push is easier to make, yet harder to defend.
