This is what I have, but I don't know if it is correct.
Robert White, Jr. (1560)
Parents:
Robert White (1540) Somerset and Alice Wright
2. Richard White (1516) " Helen Kirton
3. Thomas White (1490) Agnes Richards
4. Robert (1475) Hampshire Elizabeth Englefield
5. Robert (1446) Margaret Gaynesford
6. John White (1422) Eleanor Alice Hungerford
7. Lord Robert Hungerford Eleanor De Moeyns
Anyone see any errors?

This is the ancestry proposed for Robert White of Messing, Essex who
married Bridget Allgar on 24 June 1585 in Shalford, Essex. I presume
that your Robert White Jr. is this same Robert.

However what bothers me about this is that the Robert White who married
Alice Wright was presumably of South Petherton, Somerset and died there
in September 1600. What is the source which connects the Essex Robert to
the Somerset Robert?

Much of the remaining pedigree may be correct (although Eleanor de
Moeyns should be Eleanor de Moleyns). Also, my research (hardly
definitive) shows only one daughter Frisiwide/Fridiswide for Robert
Hungerford and Eleanor de Moleyns and no daughter Eleanor/Alice.

This ancestry which would give Robert White of Messing, Essex a Royal
Descent (via the Hungerfords) appears all over the interenet. Yet I have
not seen any documentation for any of it. Beware!

Best regards,

I think this is the same White family about which an article by Neil D.
Thompson has just been accepted by the NEHGR. Though it does trace the family
back some generations through probate records, it does not to my immediate
knowledge tie into nobility.

This is amazing. I have had Robert White tied back to this line
for years which includes some Earls of Spencer, Henry III, Louis IV,
Charlemagne and on and on. I have spent years on this family,
especially lately. Now I have thousands of ancestors to throw out!
Robert White and Bridget Allgar, by the way, cam down through
one ancestor who married a Phelps. I had never been past 1600 with
all of the other of my English ancestors. Oh no! Cheryl

thanks to everyone who has answered. I think I am going to wait
until I see this article before making any decisions.

I was in error when I made this statement. Neil has worked on other White
families, but the co. Essex famliy he wrote an article on that was just
submitted to the Register is a different surname.

I had intended to find evidence of the disproof of the alleged connection
between the Somersetshire and Essex Whites before I posted this, but I just
haven't had time. This is my own ancestry, and I seem to recall that even
those many years ago I was able to determine that the line was false.
