I love cheating. I cheat whenever I can when playing on a normal BG board.
But I find it difficult to cheat over the net because the BG servers don't
allow illegal moves :(. Be that as it may, the one area where it is
possible to cheat at is over the dice in Games Grid and I suppose also from
what I've read at Netgammon.

So who has a GG / Netgammon dice crack? I want it. Hand it over. I'm tired
having to drop so many games to avoid my rating from going down. Playing
against yourself is no fun. Your opponent doesn't get angry and I like
annoying people.

If no-one gives me a crack I'll be forced to put this request on alt.cracks
. You'll have to post the crack on alt.binaries.cracks 'cos I'm sure as
hell not gonna reveal my real email address. Oh yeah - forget about putting
a virus on instead of the actual crack. i'm not that dumb.

The only person you're cheating is yourself.
Would you be truly happy with a rating you got by cheating?
Or happier with a rating you got by playing the best that you can
WITHOUT cheating?
Please think twice about your quest to 'crack' the dice code.
By the way, if you play on FIBS, what is your name there?
I want to be sure NOT to play you.
sweetly yours,
gargoyle

Pleasure derived from cheating is often understated, mostly by the likes of
people like marie (aka gargoyle). I cheat because it's fun to cheat. The
real fun comes when the loser knows you've cheated somehow, but can't prove
it! Then he/she gets really irritated and I enjoy that. As for playing the
best I can without cheating - who needs to play well if your cheating
skills are so tuned? Sounds a dumb idea to me!

I'd like to start a library of backgammon cheats. I invite other players to
post their best cheats.

My best cheats so far:

INTERNET
----------------

1. Using Jellyfish to "help" - multitask jf and FIBS and see how well you
do! I actually got this idea for cheating off this newsgroup. Great cheat!

2. Resigning "normal game" when it's bound to be a gammon. Sometimes people
just click "Yes" for fun. And even if they don't, after a while they get
annoyed.

3. Dropping! (This one really gets people's goose! Very funny if you
simply leave the game and play someone else!)

4. Using another account to up your rating. This isn't such a good cheat
because no-one really cares about your rating. But it's good to give you
shouting ability in games Grid and FIBS because you need a certain level of
experience to shout.

5. Creating "well-known" names on lesser known servers such as NetGammon eg
play as GaryK or marvin! This is fun because you can get away with a lot of
cheating. With well-known names, you can simply apologise for the "errors"
if you're caught.

6. Obtain dice cracking programs. This is the best cheat in my opinion, but
I can't find a good enough crack for gamesgrid or netgammon. The bad side
of this is you can't get a cracking program for FIBS. And even if you
could, hacking the FIBS server is just too time consuming.

NORMAL BOARD GAME
--------------------------------------

1. Irritate your opponent by refusing resignations, even if you're
definately going to win! Irritated people make mistakes! Plus you get the
bonus that you've p****ed them off!

2. Play 4-5 when you roll 4-3. You gotta pick the dice up quickly though so
your opponent doesn't notice. Similary try 6-4 instead of 6-5. You get the
picture!

3. Pile up 9 counters on a point and when your opponent isn't looking take
one off! This really helps in endgames. Watch out though when playing a
person who does constant mental pip counting. I got caught once and that
wasn't pleasant.

4. Always try to move 5 times during after rolling a double where want you
to move different counters. You can "win" points this way!

5. If you're losing, make sure the doubling cube is nowhere in sight.
Somehow, because it's not there, opponents forget about it. Make sure it
miraculously appears if the tables turn in your favor!

6. Ask to see your opponent's dice cup! Pass insinuations that he's
cheating. Make him/her feel as if you're in control and have high
integrity! You wouldn't believe how well this can conceal YOUR cheating!

7. Always have an excuse ready if you're caught cheating! The ability to
talk your way out has saved me many times.

Just want to point out that this article was posted by the same person
who posted the original article as "Rotten Cheater". I'd avoid
Mr. Ohlsson if I was you.

Don't need them, actually enjoy playing bg, myself.

I put my name there cos gargoyle wanted to avoid playing me on FIBS! But
we've played on numerous occasions and therefore she caught on that I was
joking.

Others are not that smart, are they?

Bit 'o fun to start the New Year! Keeps a.r.b. from monotony.
