Just a heads-up. There have been several different virii coming as the
payload in those fake MS messages. Well, they've changed again and the
newest one is "Worm.Automat.AHB" so you will need to be just a little more
cautious. Of course you are all smart enough to know that MS NEVER sends out
patches via e-mails and you certainly would NEVER execute some unknown
attachment...

One other word of warning, if you haven't updated your virus definitions
then your AV software may very well miss this one! The Norton AV definitions
from September 16th let it right through. The definitions from the 18th
detected it just fine so if you depend on the NAV's automatic updates (which
only get changed weekly, on Wednesday) you will need to manually download
the new definitions (which are usually updated daily) just to be sure.

Please practice safe computing -- the rest of us are getting tired of
fending off the virii and worms from those who don't.

John,

I goofed and dowloaded it. Any ideas how to "fix" it?

There are multiple names for this beast.

Look at the vendor links in the above message for clean-up help.
