Hi,

I recognise some names on this group, so sorry to them for repeating
this.

I have a website that documents a year in the life of a Donegal
hedgerow in pictures.

http://homepage.eircom.net/~hedgerow

I have just put up a page

http://homepage.eircom.net/~hedgerow/idhelp.htm

that contains images and descriptions of items that I need help to
identify.

Any assistance would be very welcome.

Thanks

Stuart Dunlop

As far as one can be sure from photos, your rush is Bulbous Rush
(Juncus bulbosus). Only one in the region that is almost constantly
viviparous (produces plantlets in the inflorescence, cf. photo on
right).

Thanks, Martin, I'll bust open one of the sheaths and see what's in it.

I did, and the sheaths contain whole plants, so it's viviparious.....well done.
