Mahnken Named USPV Outstanding Libero
More Postseason Accolades For Chill
OAKBROOK TERRACE, ILL., April 23, 2002_ Minnesota Chill athlete
Addie Mahnken has been named United States Professional Volleyball
(USPV) Outstanding Libero for the 2002 Inaugural Season.
Mahnken averaged a league-best 12.7 digs per match and also led the
USPV in total digs with 228 and is one of only three players in the
league to go over the 200 dig total during the regular season. Mahnken
also averaged a league-best 3.4 digs per game.
In 18 regular season matches, Mahnken, a former standout at the
University of the Pacific, hit double figures in digs in 13 of those
contests, including a league-record tying 28 in a match against St.
Louis.
Mahnken is also the top-rated passer in the league, carrying a lofty
2.57 rating (out of a possible 3.00). In 501 passing attempts in the
regular season, Mahnken committed just 15 miscues.
Minnesota is currently deadlocked at 1-1 in a best-of-3 semifinal
series with Grand Rapids. The deciding Match 3 will be played
Wednesday, April 24 in Rochester, Minn. at the Mayo Civic Center
Auditorium. The winner advances to the USPV Championship to face
Chicago in a best-of-5 series.
