St. Louis Defeats Thunder

Overflow Crowd Watches St. Louis Roar Back From 2-0 Deficit

CHICAGO, ILL., April 12, 2002_ The St. Louis Quest defeated the
Chicago Thunder 3-2 in U.S. Pro Volleyball (USPV) action in front of a
standing room only and Chicago team record 2,607 at Saint Xavier
University’s Shannon Center.

The loss keeps the race alive for the No. 2 seed in the playoffs and
home-court advantage in the first round. Chicago will face St. Louis
in the first round, however home-court advantage is still up in the
air.

Kristee Porter led Chicago with 15 points (13 kills), while Makare
Wilson added 14 points (11 kills).

St. Louis (9-8, 26 points), which became the first USPV team to ever
rally from a 2-0 deficit, leads Chicago (9-7, 25 points) by a single
point.

Chicago can clinch the No. 2 seed with a win at St. Louis on Tuesday,
April 16. Chicago would then open the playoffs at home on Friday,
April 19 against St. Louis at Saint Xavier University.

Chicago travels to Minnesota Sunday to face the regular season
champion Chill before playing at St. Louis on Tuesday. Sunday's match
in Minnesota has little bearing on the playoff race for Chicago. Even
if the Thunder wins Sunday, they would still have to defeat St. Louis
Tuesday.
