stupid people shouldn't breathe! i was in the wrong directory. *blush*
opera-6.0-20020412.3-shared-qt.i386.* are for RedHat / Mandrake I think,
you can choose one of the others.
opera-6.0-20020412.3-shared-qt.i386.* RedHat 7.1, Mandrake 8
opera-6.0-20020412.2-shared-qt.i386.* SUSE 7.x,Other
opera-6.0-20020412.1-static-qt.i386.* statically
except opera-6.0-20020412.2-shared-qt.i386.deb which is for Debian.
I hope I didn't mix anything up.

It's running very well here, but my registration code doesn't work any
more :'(
I downloaded the Beta2 and my version 6 registration code was accepted
automatically. If you have a version 5 code that might not work. Since I
think tried the Version 6 code on 5 and it didn't work.

There are already enough good mailclients for Linux, try Sylpheed, Balsa
or KMail.
Niek.
Initial thoughts (using the ".2" RPM):
Much more stable. Easy to use, as Opera has always been. Certainly a heavy
contender for Linux browser of the year when the final release comes out.
But, if anti-aliasing isn't supported in the final version, there's no point
in even releasing it. Rendering is excellent except for this one point
which makes pages look very nasty. :-(
And not porting to QT3 would be a very bad thing. Esp. with how popular KDE3
is becoming already.

There is mutt and slrn. ;)
I believe (I tried them once and shuddered, never
to use them again) the Opera for Win email and news clients sucked hard, but
nevertheless they will be included with the next version (7?) of O as
"optional" components. What this means I don't know, I am guessing it won't
mean I can d/l a version of O that lacks this silly bloat though, just that
I can hide them a la Opera for Win.

You need to get mail and news clients that do not suck.

Hm? I'm using Opera with anti-aliasing. Are you sure you've setup
xfree86/fontserver/... to support AA?

Ah... but all mail and news clients suck. Some just suck less than
others. :-)

Ack, how did I manage to forget that line! :D
Netscape, mozilla and ncftp have no problems with getting the "generic"
file name linkage for the latest version of whatever....
