He gets a playable FPS, similar in rendering engine to circa-1992ish
Wolfenstein 3D, in 5k of javascript. How he makes the graphic is
particularly clever: there's an old text-based graphics format called
"XBM", and javascript can generate that on the fly, and on at least some
browsers you can do something like
<IMG SRC="javascript:javascript expression here">
I think it works on WIn IE and Netscape, though not Mac IE or Mozilla.
