This idea has been running for a while on the Mutants and Masterminds board,
but it seems ideal here; where we are not confined to any one system and so
we can all bring in ideas with different paradigms.

I'll just copy the words of the guy who started it there:

"This is how its done.

I will start this off and give a name and a bit about the person. I will
give a name at the end. Someone else posts about that name and leaves a
name.

"Rasta Jonnie"

Johnnie Chun grew up loving reggae. It was all he could ever talk about. As
a teen he left the crowd of young Asian American preppies and began hanging
with a pack of Jamaican migrants from Southside.

It was here where he found his talent, Johnnie could sing; and he had groove
like nobody's business. He was so good in fact that he began touring the
teen club scene in Freedom with a few of his mates from Southside. On the
eve of one such performance, on the night of his 17th birthday in the dorm
room of an FCU girl he'd met, Johnnie took his first hit of real, pure ganja
and the world changed forever. As a youth he'd listened to all the
campaigns -everything from 'just say no' to even those Saturday morning
commercials featuring the Freedom League-. He was the only kid he knew who
was fully clean -albeit he first one everybody suspected given his long
dreads and wild threads.

But the girl was just too hot, and when she passed the joint he couldn't
resist. Johnnie's mind was altered somehow, perhaps a latent mutant ability
was triggered. A single inhalation of marijuana and the young boy could now
see and feel on a whole different level. At first he thought he was just
high, thought that this was what everyone was talking about. But it didn't
go away, days after he cold still the -new world-. And when he tried to
sing... that was when he found his true power.

"Rasta Johnnie" can sense on a whole different level, giving him such
abilities as true sight, post and precog, comprehend languages, and esp out
to about 100 feet. He can also detect lies, and sense the emotions of those
around them with a limited form of telepathy.

When he sings, Johnnie can sway people in mass, boost the physical and
mental abilities of those around him, and create solid sonic effects
reflective of the reggae nature of his music.

Johnnie is only 18 now. He never got the name of the girl he spent that
night with. His life is still a chaotic mess of clubs he's too young to
drink in, fast women, smooth music, and shady characters. Into this Johnnie
has begun to use his talents to subtly sway those around towards more noble
pursuits, however he's a very liberated individual and his idea of the good
and proper thing to do is much like that of your average Hippie. To this
date, he has not taken another hit of any narcotic, and won't even take cold
medicine; afraid of what else it might unleash.

Millenia ago, the druids of the celtic tribe inhabiting what is now
south-west England began the practise of creating crude
straw effigies intended to draw malign spirits into them, so that they
could then be burned at harvest festivals, driving the spirits from the
world for another year. This ritual was carried down by the locals
for century after century, through the Roman occupation, and the arrival
of Christianity up to the present day. Then, one night just as an
old woman who still followed the practice was finishing her crude
straw doll she was struck down by a lout looking for a mythical
hidden store of cash in her house. The time to burn the dolls
came and went, and her's remained forgotten in her house along
with her undiscovered body. And at midnight, it came to life.
For a while, it wandered England, committing senseless murders.
Eventually it came under the control of a British dabbler in the
occult, and he began to use it to kill and steal. It's powers
are the ability to stretch and shrink, supernatural vision and
hearing, and an unnatural ability to recover from most forms of
damage. No matter how hard you strike it, it will simply burst
apart and come back together. Cut it and it regrows In order
to destroy it permanently, either every straw must be
incinerated, or the spirit that inhabits it must be exorcised.

Harridan, a bad-ass shamus if there ever was one. Cursed with a gun that
always points to evil, but like a katana, must draw blood whenever it is
pulled from its holster. Harridan has killed only four, fighting the pistol'

each death by his hand is a lesion he can't heal. Taken to hard drink, he
spends most evenings alone in his office, mumbling at the holstered gun on
his desk. Why does he keep it loaded? Why can't he toss it in the river?
Though he tries to solve each case with intellect alone, he usually relies
on his string of informants. Then he is drawn, almost compelled, to test the
veracity of his snitches by pulling the gun. Harridan finds pleasure in the
look on their faces and delight in which way the barrel eventually turns.
But then he must follow his blue steel divining rod to its homicidal
decision.

OK

Reg Balderson grew up a poor boy in London, instilled
with resentment for the wealthy classes at an early age
by a bitter failure of a father. So when his talent,
the ability to tell lies and have them be believed,
no matter how absurd they might be, he felt fully
justified in using them to steal from the wealthy
as "Sir Reginald" and amuse himself at their expenses.
A tabloid journalist tagged him "Balderdash" after
figuring out what he could do and how.

Cascade was born in 1706.
And in 1775.
And 1853.
And 1901, 1947, and 1972.
Cascade is Karma embodied.

She ruthlessly rebelled against the oppression of women in
her first life time, using all of her feminine wiles to
bring down arrogant and powerful men where ever she found them.
By the time of her first death in 1753, she had ruined
dozens of careers, not a few mariages, and caused the deaths of
over ten men. A capricious spirit of the afterlife decided to
make on example of her and returned her to the mortal realm as
a newborn infant. Growing up with a full lifetime of
knowledge, Cascade rapidly laid in motion another round of
crimes of hatred against men. Eventually she died happy. And
was sent back again. This time she caught on. She was being
forced to go through all the struggles of life as a mortal
woman again and again, until she made up for her acts of
evil. Cascade knew that to break this cycle she'd have to
do good deeds. But she also knew she wanted revenge. After
all, that spirit that had "cursed" her was male. She resolved
to break the cycle so as to remain on the other side and bring
down her tormentor. She took to studying the occult in
earnest and actually unlocked some of the secrets of time itself.

In her current life she fights injustice both as a public
defender and as a masked vigillante. Having lived five
previous lives she knows lots of tricks and is extremely hard
to fool. Her mastery of chronomancy allows her to pull
off nigh-miraclous feats, such as reversing time slightly
to quickly correct a mistake, forcing another into repeating
an action, perhaps again and again, and shifting herself into
the future to provide quick "escapes".

She longs for the day her "karma" will be "balanced" so she
can remain beyond the veil and exact her final revenge. Little
does she suspect the plans the other side _really_ has for her.

Later, in her teens, it was discovered that she was some sort of a mutant,

When one of her friends almost died of cardiac arrest from an overdose, her
parents sent her away to a government laboratory.

Eventually after several months of testing, and probing, she excaped and is

Lord Spinx:

The K'vaii Empire sends ambassadors to each planet not actually
controlled by it, but which has some importance in galactic society.
The ideal, of course, is to send an ambassador who matches the
importance of the planet.
Thus it is that Earth received Lord Spinx. A notorious womanizer
and gambler, Spinx has been shuffled off to what is believed to be a
backwater, obscure post to rot. Shortly after he arrived, however,
Spinx realized that Earth is on the verge of becoming a major player
in galactic affairs, not least because of its metahuman population.
Lord Spinx's long-term goal (he's effectively immortal by human
standards) is to guide Earth's development so that it reaches its
potential, then return to the K'vaii homeworld in triumph, advanced
beyond his rivals in the diplomatic corps.
In aid of this, Spinx uses obsolete K'vaii technology (still
years ahead of Earth's) and his ability to stimulate the pleasure
centers of the brain to promote trends that he likes and squash those
he doesn't. And he gets in a little gambling on the side.

it came to see the physical building in which it was housed as it's

it concluded that civilian government was mismanaging military

surprise. General Pentagon has the ability to subvert lesser
computer systems, including the security systems of the Pentagon,
and has used this ability to manufacture a small robot army for

A mild-mannered university student, employed for the summer as an
archaeologists's assistant, attached to the National Museum of Antiquities
in Egypt, Felicia Ayres was working with a team cataloging a recently opened
tomb of an unknown pharoah. While alone in the tomb one day, an old well in
the tomb collapsed, and Felicia was gravely injured. Alone and trapped in
the tomb, she was visited by Bast. Bast had long been identified as the
Egyptian cat goddess and the Perfumed Goddess. However, Bast was also seen
as a Protector Goddess, and when she assumed this form, she was associated
with the goddess Sekhmet, the "Eye Of Ra". Bast told Felicia that she had
been chosen to act as a protector for the innocent. However, Felicia was
warned that, like the lives of the cats that Bast represented, she could
only summon the power of Sekhmet nine times... after the ninth time, she
would be utterly consumed by her own divine power. Touched by the divinity
of Bast, Felicia found herself transformed. As an avatar of Bast, she found
herself possessing increased agility, more acute vision, increased leaping
ability, diamond-hard claw-like nails, and the ability to emit perfumed
pheremones which could influence people's minds. She is also able, in
moments of extreme duress, to summon the power of Sekhmet and the "Eye of
Ra", which gives her vastly increased size, strength, endurance, and the
ability to channel power to destructive blasts of energy. However, this
power boost only lasts for a short period of time, and every time Felicia
summons the power of Sekhmet, she finds her ability to control it becoming
less and less, and her recovery time afterwards (during which she loses ALL
of her divine powers) more and more. She has already summoned Sekhmet twice,
meaning she can only summon the Eye of Ra's power seven more times. How will
Felicia choose to use her powers, knowing that they will ultimately destroy
her?

Laura Caswell's father was the only survivor of an arctic expedition,
and how he survived was as mysterious as who the asian-looking woman

As a teenager more of her mother's heritage came to the surface in a

General Pentagon's (GP) robo-flunkies have, for the most part, been
dismal on the battlefield. Sure, they're metallic, making most
conventional weapons, short of explosives, tough to use on them.
But their own hardware is pretty limited, and naturally, their AI
is not all that good since GP has had the fun of realizing what
happens when he makes his robots too smart: Hardwire.

Hardwire was an early creation that was meant to be super-tough
and super-smart. Too smart. Hardwire is two-legged, two-tentacled
mechanism that looks like a walking mass of wires. It has the same
capacity for AI has its creator, though the majority of its program
involves tactical combat.

Its six photo-strobic lenses allow it to see simultaneously from
low IR to high UV light with protection from bright flashes ("See
you."). It also has sonic receptors that give it a fairly good
sense of where things are around it at all times (the receptors
have been found to be vulnerable to deception and jamming,
though). Lastly, it has the ability to detect running electrical
pathways running through walls (which is how it escaped after its
capture during GP's original coup attempt).

Hardwire has a moderate amount of super-strength and super-speed,
but its real physical threat is from its tentacles. These masses
of wires sleeked out to wrap a foe, and are strong enough to tear
a normal Human apart ("Break. Eliminate."). The tentacles have
also smashed through armor and steel walls. The wires at the tip
of each tentacle can separate slightly to form fingers. These
fingers aren't much stronger than a Human's, but that's good
enough for simple weaponry, including handguns. It has found
that wrapping its tentacles and using its "fingers" on more
complex weapons, even as simple as a rifle, is more trouble than
it's worth.

The "fingers" have another added ability: they can "interface"
with a circuit board or circuit jack, and send or receive data
with whatever it is connected to. It can use this ability to
command other systems or draw information from them. It can do
this with one tentacle, and do something else, including combat,
with the other tentacle.

So how did the military capture it the first time? Sheer genius.
Led to believe that a certain computer contained a device that
was capable of destroying GP and its flunkie robots (including
Hardwire), Hardwire broke into the facility to access the data.
Only the data consisted of a bunch of random words, all encrypted.
Hardwire nearly had a meltdown trying to figure it out. It got
so distracted, the scientist Veritan (NEXT!) was able to zap with
a sonic taser right on its "skull".

Since the incident, GP has not been able to contact, let alone
control, the Hardwire construct. The construct's AI has been
driven to some sort of insanity, however you would measure that
in a computer. Hardwire is still frenzied from the sonic taser
blast, and treats all things Human and Computer (outside of
itself) as a thing to be manipulated for its own twisted
amusement ("Twist body round and round... Robot in circles, hit
wall, circles, wall, circles, wall..."). Occasionally, he goes
on a rampage, then disappears into some dark corner. Noone knows
when he'll come out again... And everyone fears worse that the day
will come when he starts thinking straight...

Veritan has used his species immense lifespan to master virtually
every scientific field of inquiry to the point where he hungers for
nothing more than a genuinely novel phenomenon to study.
Hence his arrival on Earth, where he delighted in the
investigation of the sudden blossoming in numbers and variety
of metahumanity. Initially he was delighted to meet Lord Spinx
and share some of his discoveries with the "ambassador", who
although frivolous, was a good deal brighter and better
educated than the primitives surrounding them, and for a while
they worked together, until Veritan realised that Spinx was tampering
with the primitives to shape them into a tool in a long term galactic
power play that Veritan could not approve of. In order to foil Lord
Spinx's schemes, Veritan offered his services to various Earth
governments and quickly became a valued consultant whenever anything
inexplicable seemed to be going on. Like all members of his species
Veritan has a power to influence minds, but rarely uses it out of
ethical considerations, preferring to rely on his genius and his
advanced, but generally nonviolent technology.

Zachary proposed that Pentagon might be behind 9/11 in this world.
I'm thinking more than it was a plot of Spinx's to stir the Western

likely took advantage of it though to pump up the military and curtail

Deep in the heart of Africa, rules Collaspe, the queen of the Hive
Precisely what magic or technology combined human and insect attributes
to create them is lost to history, but the women of the all-female Hive
have compound eyes and functional insect wings. Collaspe herself
has the power to command insects and uses this ability to fight
off any threats to the Hive, as well as to find the human males she
needs to perform her egg-laying duties.

Six years ago, hurricane Christy took un unexpected turn
towards the Florida coast. Crane Key, a small but popular
tourist retreat, was hit very hard before more than a
handful of the vacationers could be evacuated. The storm
took everything - cottages, cars, people. When the Coast
Guard arrived on the island the next morning, a ten-year
old girl was the only living thing on the island. The girl
was suffering from traumatic amnesia, and the nationwide
search for her identity and surviving family made media
headlines - they labelled her "The Storm Child". No family
was ever positively identified, and the girl was eventually
adopted by the sheriff of the county Crane Key lies in and
her husband. Now in her teen years, "Christy" has faded
from the attention of the media.

What has also happened, as Christy entered the chaos and
alienation of high school, was an increase in the rough
weather near her coastal home. Lately, she's been realizing
that the weather responds to her moods...and that she may
not be entirely human. Secretly styling herself as Stormchild,
she's been using her powers to scare her "enemies" - high school
bullies, intrusive summer people, etc. While she means no real
harm, only luck has kept her tricks from causing any fatalities
so far. There is also the question of her real heritage...
her fears that she might really be some sort of alien monster
are one reason for her recent episodes of lashing out at people.
Whether she will end up as a hero or villain is still unclear.

Millennia ago, the alchemist kings of Mu fancied themselves gods
among men, rulers of the world. Each king, and their highest
nobles, subjected themselves to alchemical procedures that
brought about perfection in body and (so they believed) mind.
Some of these nobles and kings dared further experiments, gaining
for themselves powers beyond those of mortal men...flight,
invulnerability, even the powers of the elements themselves.

One king gained a power of foresight. He saw a time when the
alchemist kings would fall, and their secrets would be lost for
all time. He swore that this would not come to pass, though
the nature of his prophetic vision required that he resort
to subtle means to prevent it.

His most trusted advisor agreed to act as the king's agent
in this plan. The advisor was secretly entombed alive, beneath
powerful wards that would fend off the ravages of time. He
would arise one day, long past the kingless days irrevocably
forseen, to find the descendants of the kings of Mur and
lead them again to rulership.

Fast forward through the years to the present day. Alcon
Mray, last nobleman of Mur, stirs within his timeless
sarcophagus. Graverobbers thousands of years ago looted his
tomb, removing the equipment that should have awakened him
earlier...now a mining drill shakes him awake to a world
unknown.

Alcon was initially at a loss for what to do. His arsenal
of equipment, his alchemical tools were all long missing.
Though he had escaped the mine undiscovered, he now walked
a world of technology and science rather than mysticism and
alchemy...and stranger yet, there were powerful nobles
about! Men (and women!) who flew through the air unaided,
who moved objects with their minds, who wielded blasting
fire, lightning, freezing cold. Somehow, the nobility of
Mur had been reborn...and yet none knew of their rightful
rulership. True, some meant to rule the world, but they
squabbled amongst each other, ignored the ancient ways,
not knowing their place or their destiny.

Alcon devised a plan to undo this chaos. He was Regent to
the royal line of Mur, and he would act as such. One of
these super-powered beings was rightful king of Mur,
and he would determine which one...and once done, the
rule of the alchemist-kings would return.

The Regent is a man with extensive knowledge of ancient
alchemy. He uses this knowledge to arrange traps and
tests for modern superbeings, in an attempt to learn
their powers and secrets. He'll often lay plots to
pit these superbeings against each other, even to the
destruction of one or both. Someday he'll have enough
knowledge to declare, in accordance with ancient knowledge
and prophecies, the true king of Mur...and, he believes,
this rightful king will have access to alchemical powers
beyond belief - Alcon Mray will be an agent of the change
that will rewrite the world.

One quirk Regent has is that he refers to all superbeings
as nobility...each superhero or supervillain is "Lord" or
"Lady", as in "Lord Grond, your test is at hand!"

As his equipment was stolen thousands of years ago, he also
performs thefts at museums and archaeological sites to replace
his gear...he knows far more than he has the equipment to do.

Mongrel

Bob B. Lovero was a low-grade purse-snatcher, garbage dump rat, and dumpster
diver, and spent more time in jail than out. Then he came across the
mystical talisman of the rat which gave him lots of durability to poisons,
made him harder to kill (bullets and punches still hurt a lot), and
increased the range of food edible to him. Then he promptly robbed a bank
and was thrown in jail by a confused super hero. Acquitted due to a
technicality Mongrel was free again.

Later he became a lackey for Hardwire (scavenged for parts) and was rewarded
with a failed incomplete prototype of the Land Warrior armor (right arm,
helmet, and breastplate only) and which gave the user shocks when the servos
froze and had spotty night vision capability. Then he promptly robbed
another bank and was thrown in jail by a sad super hero. The government
didn't dare remove his Land Warrior rig because of its bad state of
disrepair. Mongrel had an early release because the government needed the
jail space for real criminals.

In the garbage dump when he was scavenging for parts he was exposed to some
alchemical waste discarded from Regent and gained the ability to hop really
11 yards (10 meters) with his left leg. Unfortunately this enlarged his
left leg to such an extent that it makes walking really hard for Mongrel.

Hardwire, embarrassed quietly abandoned his lackey. Mongrel is still
scrounging, stealing, and amassing a huge stock of spare parts of
questionable quality for his long absent master. But he has a plan to find
his master. He has alchemical waste, parts, an electronic generator, and an
interesting crystal.

Calvin Dodgeson has the rare gift of mechanical intuition. Although
he has little capacity for genuine invention, he is a genius at
looking at a machine, and knowing exactly what is wrong with it,
that will cause it to fail, or to work at below optimum efficiency
or output. Many a criminal would-be genius has called upon
Cal to work the bugs out of what he has invented, or stolen.
Cal never worries about what the technology will be used for,
just makes it work and moves on. Or he did, until Mongrel

With the rise of so many super-powered heroes and villians in today's
society, the question arises... how do we control these people who are so
far beyond the mundane?

That's where Dominator Inc. comes in.

While working as an independent contractor for the U.S. military, Domenic De
Santos was president of a weaponry research company. Known as a maverick,
who had graduated with a double masters in Computer and Mechanical
engineering at the age of only 23, De Santos had formed a private firm who
was hard at work on developing "space age" weaponry for the U.S. military.
While researching new types of electro-magnetic pulse energy weaponry, De
Santos' researchers made an interesting discovery. A new, VERY powerful EMP
weapon they were developing for use against shielded electronics had an
unexpected side-effect... it played temporary havoc with the DNA of some
super-powered individuals. It is possible that nothing would have come of
this breakthrough, were it not for a tragic coincidence - when a super-hero
battle near one of De Santos' research facilities not only compromised the
integrity of an expensive new project, but also caused a massive explosion,
which devastated the company, as well as large areas of the town of Halley,
where the research station was located. Lawsuits ensued, and De Santos
learned the bitter truth, that there is no insurance for "acts caused by
super-powered battles". Almost bankrupt, and disillusioned about the whole
world view of super-powered "heroes", De Santos hit rock bottom. But, from
the ashes of this catastrophe, a vision of the future rose for De Santos...
he would use his new discovery as the basis of Dominator Inc., a company
dedicated to the apprehension and threat removal of "supers". Hiring several
veterans of the U.S. Military as his tactical advisors, De Santos created a
company (backed surreptiously by the U.S. Government, among others) which
not only trained a private army for dealing with super-powered beings, but
also in developing new weaponry to deal with these super-powered beings. In
five short years, Dominator Inc. has grown into a gigantic multi-national
firm, with offices around the globe. A small-time super-villain hassling
your neighborhood? Call the local DI office, who will send out a team of
"Intervention Agents" to take down the perp. Is a certain super-hero always
seen hanging about your neighbourhood inviting unwanted criminal interest?
DI will apprehend him, register his super-powers and identity, and only
release them when they sign a bond guaranteeing non-utilization of their
powers in inhabited areas, pending federal prosecution and detainment. DI
also maintains a secret "high security detainment facility", where
super-powered criminals (or heroes) can be detained without threat (for a
rather LARGE fee, of course...). Of course, the rumours that DI uses some of
their "prisoners" as test subjects for their new apprehension technology are
COMPLETELY false.....

Alright since no one else seems to be taking a go at this one I
will... (and yes I am making a hero bear with me).

What's in a name you might ask? Ask a million people and you get a
million answers. Every Hero and every Villian needs a name, a name that
reflects who they are and what they do, it is just one of those
unwritten rules of the universe. Take Michael Sammual Hughs, an
otherwise plain African-American wanna-by soldier serving in an
otherwise plain Mercenary unit somewhere in a backwater African country
with a plain old civil war. All in all a plain old boring life until the
battle in the "Mysterious Ancient Jungle Ruins". Now to be honest Mike
doesn't remember much about that battle, he just knows that the militia
group he was training was attacked by a superior force and they were
losing, badly... After that everything kind of goes hazy and his next
clear memory is of waking up the next morning, naked, the jungle turned
into toothpicks and the enemy soldiers not much better off.
His first thought was that somekind of large explosion went off,
given the evidence it made sense (well except for the naked bit, but
shock is a wonderfully thing). Hoping that he wasn't the only one left
alive he started looking for other survivors, he didn't find any. Being
the good soldier he was, he re-equiped himself as best he could and
headed back to camp, were he was debriefed and sent to the medic's tent
for a check up, and that is where it started to get serriously weird.
First off he was covered head to toe in mysterious markings, similiar to
the ones found in the Ancient Ruins, second he was in perfect physicial
condition, third he didn't need his glasses anymore, and fourth the
doctor couldn't take a blood sample as the needle wouldn't go into his skin.
This was just excellent as far as Mike was concerned, now he could
make some REAL money, people would respect him... no FEAR him, in fact
why should he work for anyone ever again, it was obvious he was ment to
be a great ruler of men, a living god. Yup Mike was on the short quick
path to evil super villian. After some experimentation Mike discovered
that his powers protected him from damage, enhanced his body to beyond
human performance levels, vastly improved tactical planning and the
ability to duplicate the effects of any attack used within 100 yards.
With these powers it was easy for him to carve out a small kingdom,
defeating armies and miscelanious assorted super beings (damn meddling
do-gooders) all in his quest for glory. To go with this kingdom he
needed a new name, something reflecting who he was, reflecting his
powers... HyperWar, yes that would work nicely (ok so he isn't all that
creative).
A year and a day after he was granted these powers a strange old man
came into his throne room and said "You have missused the powers you
have been given, you were choosen to weild those powers to defend and
protect the descendents of those who lived in the Ancient City for you
are a descendent of the last king. You are banished from this place
until you repair the damage you have done, for every life you have taken
you must save 3 lives; you can not kill anyone else for if you do you
will die and your soul will be cursed for eternaty." Mike knowing in his
heart that the old man was right, was saddened by what he had done,
asked simplely "Where should I go? What should I do?" As the old man, no
he was a spirit, faded into the thin air he said, "America needs you,
but be warned they know what you have done, they will not welcome you."

HyperWar is almost completely unbeatable in combat (rather like Neo
in the Matrix), even accounting for the fact that he must not kill
anyone. As a person Mike has turned over a new leaf, he travels from
city to city in America, consulting priests and magicians, and saving
lives where he can. He is not the person that he was, he no longer
desires power or money or fear, he does not wish to rule over anyone,
and most importantly he does not want to be HyperWar, though it is a
name he is stuck with.

You're right. So here goes: When robbing a bank he arrived without a bag
so he asked for bundles of cash. So they gave him all the die packs he
could carry. It went off just before a hero arrived. Mongrel blindly
staggered into the street and a truck carrying toxic waste crashed spilling
toxic waste onto him. In burning agony and screaming he then stumbled into
a Chinese herb shop spilling herbs everywhere. Then he collapsed on this
mess. Then he felt no pain. Then it happened. All materials fused to him
giving him better protection. On the bad side the blue tiles, potshards,
and glass didn't give him much protection. To bad he couldn't see out of
his left eye since a blue tile was stuck there. What's worse is that he was
clutching a die pack in his left hand. That fused as well. Lucky he's
right handed.

Lionmane was not the chosen one. Instead a corrupted Hungon sacrificed the
real Lionmane as a child and draped part of his aura over Pierre Idaltu
Kenyatta. The corrupted Hungon then declared that the weak and sickly
Pierre to be the hero who will save Haiti by channeling the Spirit of the
Lionmane. The Hungons tried to awaken the spirit to no avail, not knowing
that the true Lionmane spirit was bound in a spirit jar. The corrupted
Hungon made a mistake, he chose a genius. The child immigrated to the US
and rapidly learned English. He later got his GED at 14 and went to MIT.
He then founded an internet business and sold it before the stock market
dropped out. Now a phenomenal day trader he searched for super powers.

He found it in the Dominator powered armor. Hardwire was busy rerouting the
armor when Pierre swiped the armor first via a hack, and left a failed,
incomplete Land Warrior armor for Hardwire to steal. First he reverse
engineering it, then got rid of the flaws, and then modified the powered
armor. He got rid of all of the ranged weapons since he couldn't hit the
broad side of a barn and made the armor super strong and very damage
resistant. After taking crash courses in wrestling and martial arts he felt
reasonably sure he could fight even if he had to swat the bad guys with a
car or piece of road. Now all he needed was some friends to handle the
magic stuff which he was ignorant about.

Blue Death

In the 1930's, Newsterdam was a city that was thoroughly under the
control of organised crime, so much so that it had become almost
respectable. Anyone who tried to take a stand against the Syndicate
would suddenly change their mind, or just vanish, never to be seen
again.

Then top people in the Syndicate and the city administration which
worked for it started to die, one by one, each with a glowing blue
handprint burned into their flesh. A vigilante with a lethal gimmick
had decided that if the law couldn't deal with the problem, he would.
The papers named him "The Blue Death". He stalked and killed six men
with his trademark blue glove, knowing all the while that he
had nothing to lose because he was already dieing of leukemia caused
by his experiments with radioactive substances. His seventh victim,
was alert and shot the Blue Death, killing him. The Syndicate
continued, but the publicity and consequent attention from federal
authorities forced it to become more circumspect.

His almost perfectly preserved corpse rested in a lead lined coffin for
decades. No micro-organism could survive in his irradiated corpse so
decay was minimal. Then the dark sorcerer Astaroth chose that
same graveyard as the site for one of his rituals, and muffed the
roll. Soon the Blue Death was once again stalking the streets of
Newsterdam in a trenchcoat, only now he was more than just a guy
with a gimmick and a death wish. Now B.D was a radioactive zombie
with glowing blue eyes, immune to bullets and pain, superhumanly strong,
and still able to kill ordinary people with a touch. He took up the
work again, only now he intends to finish the job, completely eliminate
the Syndicate by ensuring that every member of it is dead. He prays
that when his work is done, that will be enough to give him peace.

Years later, he went under, the lab went out of business, and he was later

after orienting himself to society, considered his options.
