A new plan is being offered in at least the L.A. area, possibly
others. Yes, 1000 anytime minutes plus both unlimited nights and
weekends. The no extra charge long distance, no roaming charges, 50
incoming text messages, etc T-mo stuff is as usual. An amazing plan.
This is the old $60 plan cut by $20. Those in L.A. take advantage.
In my case, the CSR said no contract extension required. The website
is showing the plan.

Odd, when I go to the site to check it out, I bring up plans, it says, on
the page that lists all the plans, it says that it includes free nights and
weekends. But then, when I click "plan details", it makes no mention of the
nights.

Hope this comes to Jersey.

I called t-mobile, cust care just told me that it is a promo plan in the LA
market...
$39.99/1000/unl nites/unl weekends. could be a typo in the "plan details"

same plan for $39.99/1000 is in chgo & NY, but no "un nites" or "un
weekends"

btw, the cust care rep told me she did not know of the plan until she
checked.
she also told me that it started yesterday.

The 39.99 1000 no NW has been around for some time.

Word is, this plan is a direct response to AT&T offering an L.A. promo
of 1000 + NW for 39.99. In AT&T's case, it looks like the extra
minutes (650) will expire at contract's end. In T-Mo's case, plans
don't expire even after a promo ends, as long as the plan is not
switched of course.

They are price-matching an AT&T promo. Since the AT&T plan is for
LA only, so is T-Mo's. I wouldn't hold my breath on this plan
spreading outside of LA, but I suspect most LA carriers will react with
a promo.

This plan would make it almost worth living in LA! ...Almost. ;-)

I just changed my number to an LA number. Since long distance is
included, it doesn't make much difference to me where my "home base"
number is.

Unless you want local people to call you from landlines ....

At least half of my calls are like this.

Right, but in general, most of my friends have cells /w long dist.
included. And w/ long dist. so cheap nowadays, I figure, if someone's
too cheap to call me, then I don't really want to talk to him/her ;-).
Still, there are call forwarding numbers that you can get for like
$5/month, and w/ that you can get a local number and forward it to
your cell....
