Hi All

It has been suggested to me that some people have sent
MicroDigital the full amount of the cost of their Omega
that was supposed to have been delivered "before
Christmas".

Can anyone confirm whether that is true, please?

Not hearsay, though, please. Have *you* paid
MicroDigital up-front and not got a machine yet?

If you have a friend who has done so, please would you
ask them to contact me?

Thanks a lot.

All the best,

Paul.

Paul, exactly what has this info to do with you?
You appear to be on some sort of crusade, next you will
suggesting that folk do not pay annual sub to mags just in case
future editions never arrive.

Its between individuals and MD.

Are you sure this is the best way of asking Paul? ;-(

Yes, you're right, sorry. It does sound a bit harsh.
I was just trying to see how far MicroDigital had got.
i.e. just how imminent are these computers?

If they have taken full amounts, as someone suggested
to me, then we must be talking 28 days, mustn't we?

In one sense it is, yes, but in another sense, if
MicroDigital's inability to be realistic about
delivery dates is spoiling the chance of a company
that actually has something to sell, that is affecting
the whole future of the market, isn't it? So it's not
just an individual thing.

In fact, it's my livelihood, amongst other things, so
perhaps you'll forgive me if I've over-reacted a tad.

It may be spoiling Castle's chances, but only in the sense that /any/
announced future product may cause people to postpone a purchase: after all,
it's common practice in the automotive world to announce new models months
or even years in advance, and nobody cries 'foul' there. MD's record of
failure to meet their own deadlines is such that, one could argue, they are
the last company to pose a threat to Castle, who actually have a new
computer they can and do deliver to customers!

Cheers

It's probably fair to say that MD did more to spoil RiscStation's chances
over the past 2/3 years when their pre-announcement depressed the market
remarkably. The IYONIX will sell - limited by people knowing about it and
having the money to spare - and they sold some tonight. MD will not dent
that market until they can turn up and sell Omegas on the spot.

I spoke to MD on 16 Jan 03 and was told that my
order (3603) was 'in batch 3', that Omegas were
'in manufacture' and that my machine would
be delivered within 2 weeks. I am therefore
expecting my credit card to be
debited next week. On my 9 Jan statement it
had *not* been debited.

I complained that the web
site was not being updated (saying that without
e-mails being sent to purchasers, this was their
only way to obtain information) and got the
reply that there was so much uninformed
criticism generated by each web site update that
he (David) was intending to remove the
'Newsdesk' area and make the site much simpler.

Whilst what MD said to me must remain 'hearsay',
I can confirm that what I have said above is true
and that if you want confirmation you should
speak to David yourself. If he denies this
he is lying.

<AOL>

I was given a similar promise last week. My number was somewhere around the
same (haven't got it with me at the moment).

</AOL>

Good luck to them. I've waited this long, a few more days won't make any
difference. I hope it's close now.

Kind regards

Dave
