Joss Whedon was supposed to be a surprise guest at End of Days. He wasn't
able to attend, but did send a video message [1] apologising & saying that
the reason he couldn't be there was because a project of his had been
"re-lit". Pretty sure that's the exact word he used.

So - Firefly, perhaps? Here's hoping.

Great - let's hope so.

That Joss Whedon is a funny, funny, man.

Yeah, there was more stuff written on the board but I can't remember any.

Age-, not alcohol-related memory loss, I hasten to add.

Indeed.

I'm pissed off I missed that. No more missing opening ceremonies for me,
no sir. It's the first one I've ever missed, in fact, and as it turns
out, the only one that needed NOT to be missed. Bah.

I have to say him not being there may have been sort of a blessing in
disguise - I shudder to think what the length of the queue would have been
if Joss had been signing autographs...

It hurts sometimes more than we can bear.
If we could live without passion, maybe
we'd know some kind of peace.
But we would be hollow.
Empty rooms, shuttered and dank...
Without passion, we'd be truly dead.

Well, if FF is getting renewed...

As for queue, I think it would've been the same as the Denisof queue.
Probably had the pair of them signing in the same room, and numbers
called up in batches and very strictly regulated (no non-called numbers
allowed through. Out you go if you're not supposed to be in was the
policy..)

I'd say not - set rebuilding costs are a major issue in situations like
this.

I think the possibilities are:

1) Angel has been granted S5 and Joss is getting more hands-on with it.

2) Ripper is go for a TV movie.

3) The Buffy animated series has been picked up.

4) An old pitch has received new interest.

Unless they're absorbed into what would be a much bigger budget anyway
i.e. a Firefly movie.

Joss has previously indicated that he was looking into a movie as a
possibility to keep the franchise alive.

A fan spoke to Nathan Fillion at the filming of Alligator Point (his new
sitcom pilot, which unfortunately sounds rather mediocre) where he
confirmed that they were looking into doing a movie, and specifically a
theatrical movie rather than a made-for-TV movie.

And given that he used the word 're-lit' - the pun seems obvious.

TFM said yesterday that they still haven't heard.

That's still the plan and may happen as well.

Possibly - although last we heard no-one wanted it.

Maybe it's that old 'Die Hard on bridge' script that he sold years ago.
Or the one about the guy who who wakes up to find his brain has been
transplanted in a serial killer's body.

Or hey - maybe it's that musical version of Psycho we heard about a
while back. :)

Recall if you will (although since you're not a fan, you probably won't)
that they didn't tear down the main set, ie 'Serenity'. It's sitting on
some Fox lot somewhere, in storage. So that's really not the big cost
here. It's been 'on ice' for a couple of months now.

> 1) Angel has been granted S5 and Joss is getting more hands-on with it.

Which, one assumes, we would've heard. And 're-lit' doesn't pun it up
enough for that.

> 2) Ripper is go for a TV movie.

Possibly. Although that would imply he'd need to fly over to the UK
rather than have more meetings stateside, I would've thought.

But..dude, 'RE-LIT'.

Mattia
Wishful thinker.
