Greetings Software Professional,
Open source community leaders, including Michael Tiemann, CTO of Red
Hat, Grady Booch of IBM Rational, Erich Gamma of the Eclipse Java Dev
Tools project, Gregor Kiczales of the University of B.C., and John
Wiegand of the Eclipse Platform project, head a lineup of speakers
slated for EclipseCon 2004, a new technical conference organized by
the Eclipse open source consortium.
Scheduled for Feb. 2-5, 2004 in Anaheim, Calif., EclipseCon is being
produced and managed by the Object Management Group, an Eclipse
consortium member. Sponsors to date include Hewlett-Packard Co., IBM
Rational Software, SAP, Catalyst Systems Corp., ETRI, INNOOPRACT,
Intel Corp., MKS Inc., Scapa Technologies, and SlickEdit Inc.
The event is targeted to developers, software architects, technical
managers, systems integrators, thought leaders and other software
development tools producers and consumers using or interested in
learning more about Eclipse's exciting technology and the depth and
breadth of the Eclipse ecosystem. The program is designed to enhance
the interaction and dialog between attendees through a demo track,
poster session, Birds-of-a-Feather meetings, and technology
roundtables.
Attendees will learn about the culture of open tools, why and how the
Eclipse technology evolved, the drive behind the rapid open platform
development process, the wide range of open source, free, and
commercial Eclipse-based offerings, and how Eclipse and Eclipse-based
offerings apply to a broad range of computing applications.
EclipseCon presents an opportunity to meet key members of the
ecosystem and Eclipse open source project.
