Ned complains to Sarah about being short handed at the farm. Billy is
off sick with the flu. A trailer is stuck in a ditch and Ned cannot
get it out without some help.
Ned asks Sarah to get Jack to help, but Sarah refuses.

Zak is complaining to Butch about Lisa buying her own cement mixer.
Zak tells Butch that he grafted his walnuts off to buy a mixer and his
pride has been hurt.

Andy goes into the post office to buy some beans and dog food.
He gives Viv a £50 note but she refuses to take it, telling him it
could be dodgy.
Andy ends up buying dog food only from the loose change that he has.
He goes out of the shop calling Viv a cow under his breath.

Jack turns up at the farm after Sarah has telephoned him.
He helps Ned and Sarah get the trailer out of the ditch.

Tara turns up at Home Farm.
Steve tells her the kissing incident was a mistake.
Tara gives Steve an invitation to a party at Oakwell Hall.

Cathy tells Betty that she is lucky to have someone like Seth buying
her lingerie and that she should feel flattered.

Andy goes to the wine bar and tries to get Pollard to change his £50
note.
Pollard takes the money and tells Andy that he is keeping it as his
dad owes him money.
Pollard tells Andy to get Billy to come and see him or else he will go
and see him with some friends.

Jack is covered in muck having helped to get the trailer out of the
ditch.
Sarah tells him that there are still some of his old clothes up stairs
which he can change into. She tells him to take a bath and stay for
tea.
Andy turns up to play with Robert. When asked about Billy he tells
Sarah and Jack that he is still ill with flu.

Tony Cairns goes to see Steve Marchant at Home Farm. He is still
trying to get Steve to back him in his outdoor centre idea.
Steve tells him he still isn't interested.
Tony explains about his plan to have an Emmerdale Challenge for the
villagers.
When Tony goes, Kim tells Steve not to get involved with Cairn's
plans.

Steve answers a telephone call but the caller has put the phone down
without speaking. He tells Kim that this has happened twice yesterday.

Mandy is chatting to Paddy in the Woolpack about Christmas presents.
Mandy is complaining that everyone is going to buy her slippers.

Butch complains to Marlon about not having a girlfriend.

Betty tells Cathy that she is going to wear the lingerie that night
for Seth.

Doug arrives at the Tea Rooms and Cathy shows him the dress she has
bought for the Golf Club dinner.
Doug explains that the dinner is exclusive and Cathy isn't invited.
He admits that Cathy cannot go as his wife will be there. Doug tells
Cathy that his priorities lie with his family.

Zak wants to smash up the mixer he bought for Lisa.
Lisa stops him and tells him that she wants to keep his mixer and will
take her's back.

Ned and Jan go to the grave of Dave and Linda.

Back at the Sugdens, Sarah tells Andy that she will pop over to take
some sweets/food to Billy. Andy tells her that Billy doesn't want any
visitors in case they catch the flu.
Sarah thanks Jack for helping out on the farm.
Jack wants to come back to work at the farm.
Sarah agrees, but tells him that his return to the farm will be for
work only.

Betty tells Seth that they should stay in tonight. Betty is going to
have a bath to get beautiful.

Steve overhears Kim talking to the blackmailer.
When she puts the phone down he asks her what is going on. She
explains that the call was from a supplier.

Betty comes down stairs dressed in her lingerie, Seth had disappeared.

Seth is in the Woolpack.

Kelly and Roy are in the Woolpack, Roy ignores Kelly.

Vic and Viv are in the Woolpack.
Vic suggests they go for marriage guidance as he wants to give their
marriage another go.

Seth comes home to find Betty waiting for him.
Betty flashes her gear and thanks Seth for the present.
She tells Seth she has a present for him, its a roll of bedding.
Betty explains that she won't be sleeping with Seth in his drunken
state and that he can sleep down stairs.
Seth tells Betty that he can get rid of the smell of alcohol by
brushing his teeth, if he had any.

Paddy is talking to Mandy in the Woolpack.
Mandy is depressed, Paddy suggests they find a place and live
together.

Tony Cairns is trying to get folk to sign up for his Emmerdale
Challenge, evidently its a run.
He plays Butch and Marlon off against each other to get them to sign
up.

Kelly wants to get back with Roy and aplogises for the incident with
Biff.
Roy tells her to get on her bike, then tells her that's about right, a
bike.

Vic tells Viv that he wants to be man and wife again. He has lived
like a monk for the last year and wants to forgive and forget.
Viv tells him she doesn't love him anymore but will think about it.

There's a knocking on the Post Office door, Viv goes to answer it and
asks who it is calling at midnight.
She opens the door and a woman with a back pack comes in and
introduces herself as Anika. She has come to see Victor.
She tells Viv that she must be Vic's sister and explains that she met
Vic in Holland.
Viv's ending words are "lived like a monk for a year did he".

That's how it ended.
