RC1 was released on April 18, and has generated significant testing and
review from its nearly 400,000 downloads. In addition, we've received
nominations from the community, identifying fixes that developers would
like to see changed before the 1.0 release. RC1 was judged to be a good
release, but from this global feedback we've identified a limited set of
issues which are of particular interest to us. We've decided to do an
additional cycle of changes as a Release Candidate 2 (RC2). We don't
have a specific date yet, but it should be within the next week or so.

For those who watch the tree, RC2 will come from the Mozilla 1.0 branch,
as did RC1. We've been taking carefully identified fixes on this branch
since RC1 was released. We will change the user agent to say "RC2"
instead of "RC1."

Thanks to the massive number of people who participated in testing and
reviewing RC1. We look forward to your feedback on RC2.

Hi,

Could you please fix the problem with File/Attachment/Save all... in the Mailer?

Faced it using 1.0 RC1 for Linux.

Thanx.

File a bug if you want to get it fixed.

Just want to remind the powers that be of the OS X issue: Mozilla is
essentially unusable on OS X since it most cases it does not handle
greater than 31 character filesnames on that platform.

Hopefully a fix will make it into a release candidate, don't see how
moz could release without it!

Does the Windows bug
http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61188#c22
finally get solved in Mozilla RC2?! This drives me nuts...
Thank you!

well RC2 isn't quite out yet...

but it looks like the answer is going to be "no". that bug is marked
"future", so it's unlikely to get fixed any time soon. sounds like it
needs an API change to make it possible for themes to work out how wide
the scrollbar is set to be in the OS, which to me sounds like it's quite
a big fix for a small bug.

The File -> Save As -> Text option became badly broken somewhere along
the line. A number of us have been (unsuccessfully) attempting to to
get this resolved with the developers, but one of thme has labled the
bug as WONTFIX.

Over the years, users came to rely on Netscape 4.X's implementation of
the "File -> Save As -> Text" functionality. This feature has been
rendered unusable in the current version of Mozilla. The current
implementation has become some horrible hybrid of html tags and asci
text as the output format, and it makes it virtually impossible to
mine data from sources such as Yahoo's stock splits data. I strongly
suggest that your reinstate the functionality as represented in
Nescape 4.x for this feature. If other text save modes are required
as well, then implement them.

But don't ruin a feature that people have come to rely upon.

If you know that a bug exists about the things you are
talking about, then it would be very kind of you if you
mention the bug number in your post so that other people
can save the time to search bugzilla. In this case the
"continuation" of the wontfix'ed bug is:

* Option not to save URLs during SaveAs Text
http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135239

Probably not. They're an independent project on Mozdev.org.

While it's true that some independent projects (Chatzilla, Multizilla's
tabbed browsing) were integrated into the project, at this late stage in
the game when focus is primarily on cleaning up, it's unlikely that
large additions to the code will be made AISI.

No, Multizilla wasn't integrated. Mozilla's tab feature is independent
of it; though it possibly was implemented because of Multizilla's success.

Greetings,

Just a minor cosmetic thing I have found... Displaying XHTML / HTML 4
tag <hr /> / <hr> that has a CSS color attribute gives as a result a
<hr> element that does not have the color attribute applied.

Regards

C.
