build 3133 still cannot jump to # link in another pages,
e.g.
<a href="start.htm#ch1">ch1</a> from index.html

always jumps to top of start.htm, not to #ch1

Can't confirm. All # links work fine for me. A CMS I wrote uses several
of them (such as a pop-up help menu). If the page is big, it won't go to
the # link on the page until the page has completely loaded, but that's
been around since o7 first came out.

Please try the below two pages of mine, written in Japanese but you can
click LINK.

http://www.saiton.net/today/opera7.htm
There is a link within a page, "IE/Mozilla something(in Japanese)" goes to
./opera7.htm#gotourl

http://www.saiton.net/linux/opera.htm
There is a link out of the page, e.g. "Opera7.11 for Linux" should go to
./linuxopera.htm#linux711final,
but goes to top of ./linuxopera.htm

Other browsers work as expected.

It doesn't work when using shift+click. I tried using right-click>Open in
new, and rightclick+mouse down, and those worked fine.

Both work fine for me? Are you having page loading issues? The jump
doesn't happen until the target element has fully rendered (maybe not
until all its ancestor elements have closed). On large pages such as W3C
specs this can take a few seconds after the top of the page displayed. On
your page the delay was about 2 seconds.

It strikes me as odd to have to perform extra gestures for such a basic
command, it should just work with one basic click.

Thanks Toman, Richard and Lillian for confirmations.
Just curious,... Simple click on a link to a page other than itself
does not work properly for me.

Win2k with all updates and beta12 is my environment.

No, you're right. I didn't try that before.
Clicking this link will not work here.

Now I understand the issue.
1. When Opera opens a link outside of linked page in a new tab,
2. When Opera has a cash of target page, it opens the top of the page.
3. After deleting cash, Opera opens the target.htm#chapter1(for example).

Perhaps the confusion of cashed file or so.
I got this information from Japanese Opera freak, Yaske-san, while we
talking on ICQ.

OK, I figured the cache thing after visiting Lillians page. The second
test worked the first time, but not the second.
Are you bug-filing?

Still odd cos it keeps working for me on my test page no matter how many
times im trying it. Must add that ive set my preferences to only cache
"other", no documents or images. And im "always" checking for new versions
of a page.
