Hello all:

We currently want to create a newsgroup (NG) under the us.* hierarchy for
discussion of U.S. KIA. The proponents have been given a 3 to 6 month
waiting period to obtain support for the newsgroup we want for meaningful
discussion of KIA. Please contact me if you would like to support us in the
creation of a newsgroup on the USENET for the purposes mentioned. A
proposal to create the NG can appear as early as April 23rd in us.config.

Thank you,

Why? It's a waste of time. The subject is covered in the discussion
groups for the various wars, and properly so.
And why are you dragging soc.religion into this?

Vincent, Vincent, Vincent.

There have already been pointers all over the place asking people to
support this during the RFDs. They didn't. It should be clear to you
that you aren't going to get support by asking for it.

As was stated to you in us.config, you need to start some threads that
are interesting to people and in which they will participate. If you
can't successfully start threads, that means that "want(ing)...
meaningful discussion" is just a dream. By not starting threads as
has been suggested, I can conclude that you are not capable of
meaningful discussion.

BTW... does the inclusion of soc.religion mean you're going to go back
to the "God and country" phrase? Haven't you figured out that's the
recipe to lose again?

My guess is that he is simply trying to get a flame-war started as soon as

My guess is people is soc.religion looked at the subject line and read
no further, deciding they weren't interested in a group about a car.

Inside the Irish Spring packing crate (the one under the UHF radio) I
scrounged from the commisary (if you can call it that) in Kandahar...thought
it would be the safest place to hide them from Marines.

Here in the soc.religion site, I wonder if it's "the recipe to lose again"
if I want to have "God and country" in the RFD for a us.* hierarchy NG on
KIA? Anyway, Ed, I've had to block messages from so many poor critical

Curiosity takes control of me. How are they "awkward"? What is your
criteria in determining who is or isn't in the category of "poor critical
thinkers"? I thought the suggestion given you, I believe by Ed IIRC, to
start threads and get participation in them was a good idea. My suggestion
to you is not to view and treat others with arrogance and superiority,
that's a turn-off and it won't help you with what you're trying to
attain/accomplish. It's just something I've noticed in your posts here and
there (i.e., when you 'demanded').

1- You are not just in soc.religion you are also in:
us.military.history, us.military.army,
us.military.navy, us.politics, and none of those groups
want to
discuss your failed RFD.

2- Apparently neither are the folks in soc.religion
because you got at least one followup that said in
effect 'get lost'.

3- what you should do is follow the advice you got from
Ed, Esk and Snark. Try posting the kind of stories
that you intend to run in the group if you get it and
see if you get any replies. If you get any replies,
(except the ones that say get lost) follow them up and
try to keep the thread going as long as you can. Post
as many as you can and repost the successful ones to
other military groups.

4- Forget "G-d and Country" it is a dead loser.

Somehow your group reminds me of a cross between "pirates of the Caribbean"

There's something wrong with missives from the 404th Group Mission Trolls
and Posters gang. It's probably also a violation of the RICO act.

They use ad hominems and other psuedoreason, so it's "poor critical
thinking."

I appreciate your suggestions and do not view you as one of them. Any
suggestions to accomplish the goals you suggest, but have you read their
posts? Even other proponents of our tabled RFD think it's "a lion's den"
with these people and do not come in here right now because of it. So
you're a minority saying otherwise BTW...

Why did this guy quit. Could it be because he knows your nuts?

Detox'd be too good for ya! ROFL! At least it's only a DUI on the
Internet! You even slur!

Anyway, I'd like a good board, and with off-the-wall comments like that
after you've had a whole lot more to drink than me (not that I didn't want a
little more mind you), especially when I told you World War III would not be
in the best interests of our corporation (would it?)... Are you trying to
be funny?

If you're gonna quit from the group, I haven't seen you. If you're talking
about the board, I'd rather see someone who keeps the corporaiton's
interests in mind on it, and if you can do it, you're welcome on it
certainly, but the Bylaws need to be signed before you can officially resign
as far as I can tell... Right now, the Articles of Incorporation that you
signed say, "The specific purposes for which this corporation is organized
are to provide research, education, and relief involving families of U.S.
KIA. It will organize grant and other money to disseminate for these
purposes." Our proposed Bylaws include, "... Remembering KIA and those who
fall under its definition, i.e., those who die of their wounds directly
associated with being mortally wounded on the battlefield... Promote justice
and healing for the families of these soldiers and for our country."

As the discussion group says, "It's here to discuss issues for
relatives/friends and provide support for family of U.S. killed in action
(KIA), those killed in U.S. military operations while in the U.S. Armed
Forces."

Hopefully, you can still do good work, but it appears you've bought a house
now.

Absolute stupidity and counterproductive to your cause.

Does your father read these posts? If he does it is
amazing that he has not yet hung you out to dry.

How would you know anything about 'critical thinking?

Keep on whining and moaning; it will get you right out
of usenet, and it could not happen to a nicer and more
deserving guy

You snipped tank fixer's text so we would not see that
your response is wholly irrelevant, and for that matter
so are you.

You are not handling anything even close to "well". In
fact you are doing every thing *badly*. In fact you
could not do worse. You are not going to get your
"group" and the fault is 100% Vincent Bartning.

You have earned the ridicule, so do not complain. One
article is not enough. You should post at least 2 or 3
new ones daily and to different groups. Also you
should abandon this thread -- it too, is
counterproductive

LOL anything you hear from daryl, believe the opposite.

So take it to the DOJ. I'm sure they would enjoy the laugh.

I have yet to see you discuss anyhting without resorting to attacks by the
third of fourth post.

The suggestion is to start some threads discussing the topic you wish to
have a group for.

There is, it's fairly new and your server may not carry it.
Not much traffic but it is growing slowly.

How does poor critical thinking constitute a RICO violation?

Do you know what RICO is?

??? I'm a group? I asked a perfectly reasonable IMHO question. Well,
actually two. Why am I being insulted? That is, I think I am - it's
not all that clear, what with an lol ending.

Here is a link to and a post in part of the 'prohibited activities' under
RICO:
http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/18/1962.html
[Q] It shall be unlawful for any person who has received any income derived,
directly or indirectly, from a pattern of racketeering activity or through
collection of an unlawful debt in which such person has participated as a
principal within the meaning of section 2, title 18, United States Code, to
use or invest, directly or indirectly, any part of such income, or the
proceeds of such income, in acquisition of any interest in, or the
establishment or operation of, any enterprise which is engaged in, or the
activities of which affect, interstate or foreign commerce. ...... [/Q]

You dared to challange his "wants".
In his would this is not allowed. IMHO he thinks by adding in soc.religion
he will gain support to keep the words "for god and country" in the RFD
for the proposed group.
He has not apparently heard of the Quakers, Amish or Seventh Day
Adventist's, none of whom are too keen on fighting "for god and country"
but may still be found in the armed forces. Though SDA representation is
most likely not too high.
I am suprised he did not call you treasonious. Wait, he did.
