Well.... where does that leave us?
What does this mean for inclusion of Calendar in default builds?
Is there any indication that someone else has interest in adding
functionality to Calendar?
As a starting point, any idea what the current user base is? Any wild
guesses from download stats, Mike?
There is one bug which prevents Mozilla Calendar from working with
WebDAV enabled servers (iCal servers) and accented characters:
current version of the Mozilla Calendar application fails to propely
implement section 4.1.4 of RFC2445, which says:
"(...)The default character set for an iCalendar
object is UTF-8 as defined in [RFC 2279]. (...)"
Using UTF-8 will, I think, solves bugs #167800, #173039, and #181557
(marked as #167800 duplicate).
Is changing Mozilla Callendar to use UTF-8 such a hard work ?
I feel your pain. I am trying to feed my family and currently can not do
much of anything with the various projects I was active with. sigh...
You did a great service to the community. Thanks!
I'll say something on the OpenOffice.org groupware project, perhaps some
of them can get active with the Mozilla calendar.
Thanks to you and Mostafa and all the crew at OEone.

So, although Mostafa and I are not going to be able to spend as much
time on it, there are other people out there developing for the
calendar, which will probably more than make up for what we were doing
on our own.
The next few months should be very exciting for the calendar project.

Hi Mike,
will you and Mostafah (or have you already) be changing the owner
fields on some or all of your bugs to nob...@mozilla.org? I'm
wondering as there are bugs such as
http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=189416 ("View buttons
should be type=radio") which are not so important but could
probably be done by somebody with some XUL knowledge. It may be a
way to encourage more people to contribute, and it would seem that
with everything else you won't have time for them yourselves.
