This is as appropriate here as anywhere else.
"Later," formerly a late-late-night talk show, now a vehicle for SCTV
reruns, is officially going off the air on January 3. Its
replacement, "Last Call with Carson Daly," premieres January 7. It
will suck, but it'll last forever because late-night shows don't get
cancelled, only reworked. (NBC has only cancelled two late-night
programs in the last 20 years: SCTV Network in 1983, and its
replacement, Friday Night [Videos], in 2000.)

I know we're all entitled to our opinions but the show hasn't even
been taped yet, not too mention aired yet. Why don't you save your
review until you actually view the show?
Carson Daly is the host of the most popular show on MTV (TRL) and in
my opinion he does an AWESOME job. A lot of young people respect and
admire him. Now an older audience will have a chance to see how
talented and intelligent he is.
When you are a fan of a show, and they're taking off that show to put
another show on, you're going to be pissed, even if God Himself were
hosting the new show.
Hmm. Hosts a popular show... so let's put him on late at night.
Isn't that the same logic that brought us 'The Pat Sajak Show'?

What about "Tomorrow" with Tom Snyder? It was cancelled in the spring of 1982,
when Letterman came to Late Night...
