"NEW" Elite Chrome 100?

I just bought some Elite Chrome 100 (fresh, at a big dealer) and it was
marked "NEW" and "Finest Grained Consumer Color Slide Film" or words to that
effect.

The Kodak online data sheet is unchanged since January.

Has Elite Chrome 100 been re-engineered to be like E100G instead of E100S?
Any news? I've e-mailed Kodak...

Got my answer from Kodak. The "NEW" Elite Chrome 100 (with "NEW" in red on
the box) is indeed like E100G rather than E100S. That means it is
super-fine-grained.

That is my understanding. I've shot about 10 rolls of the New Elite Chrome
100 and I like it very much. It is currently my second favorite slide film
right behind Fuji's new version Astia 100F.

Kodak confirmed it, and I shot my first roll last night (of a spectacular
aurora borealis in Georgia, where we rarely see the aurora).

They also say E200 is going to get re-engineered in a similar way to make it
finer-grained. That is exciting news for me because E200 is *the* film for
astronomy (high speed, low reciprocity failure, and strong response to the
deep red end of the spectrum, where the nebulae are). Meanwhile I'm using
pushed E100G or "new" Elite Chrome 100, which, with a 1-stop push, is still
finer-grained than unpushed E200.
