After terminating a train at this station some days ago I heard classical
music being played over the PA. THe SM tried this as and experiment and much
to his delight it work in driving away the riff raff from loitering on the
platfrom.

Apparently the local kids were using this station as their local haunt ....
but not anymore. Its a pity that this idea has NOT bee tried at more
stations, particularly on the Bankstown Line

Problem is in Melbourne's loop stations the easy listening stuff they play
there is in danger of driving away legitimate rail customers!

I don't know about this being the SM's experiment - it was trialled
successfully at about 20 stations last year (I think some were Emu Plains,
Penrith, Blacktown, Central to name a few). "Technical difficulties"
prevented its immediate introduction (something about copyright?).

Dave at Hazelbrook station sometimes plays steam loco recordings over the PA
in the mid-morning.

I've not heard other passenger comment on the matter, it would be interesting
to know what they think.
