That's all I wanted to say. Please shun him. I'm getting tired of
wading through the "mindfield". Thank you.

Not very optimistically,
Sandra

Hi everyone, I am "new" to this newsgroup, though I've been lurking for
some time. Have learned and laughed a lot. Many thanks!

But before I jump in, I would like to most respectfully and humbly, but
seriously suggest, no, REQUEST, that everyone, especially the learned
psychologists who participate, to stop replying to Brad. If you must,
why don't you just e-mail Brad individually ? Believe me, (and I take
the liberty of speaking for all newbies and others not involved), but
the Brad stuff is so unceasingly BORING, clutters the ng, and replying
does not enhance your reputation. I am sure that if there is dead
(consistent) silence to the ranting, it will eventually go away (or at
least diminish). By replying, you dignify and add to the nonsense, and
actually make yourself look not-so-great --in spite of the other sane
and worthwhile posts you make.

Sure, I could go elsewhere, but the potential here is fabulous if we
could attract more interested minds that aren't turned off so quickly.
OF course you can ignore me, but at least I can then leave thinking,
"Well, I tried!"

Dear em...@idt.net: The problem is my critique IS dignified, not only for
providing much useful information and data, but the views it contains have
been supported by leading professors in the field -- a verified fact !!!

Not responding to my critique will not keep it from being "dignified"; it
has been. (Most of this occurred over 2 yesrs ago -- before the uncivil
brawl.) What it has not been dignified with here for two years is a
reasonable or appropriate of thoughtful response. The sort of response it
deserves.

I wish you people knew how much your biases show and how your opinions are
not fair or reasonable. You are way too accepting of your irrational
biases -- poss. the result of poor "therapy". I swear you accept knee-jerk
feelings uncritically; it's psychopathic. Humans cannot be uncritical of
their feelings. It would be like trying to walk using your leg but not
your foot. The reason you can think critically is to use that ability as
part of what you do before you respond.

Trust me, every possible effort has been made. We've tried ignoring
him, we've tried engaging with him reasonably, and now we are dealing
with him on his level. No matter what we do, including nothing, brad's
behavior devolves to the point where he is extremely abusive.

If you don't believe me visit:
http://www.geocities.com/SouthBeach/Pier/7919/
and
http://www.wharton.demon.co.uk/Index.htm

and if you want to see the e-mail where he threatened my life, I can
forward that.

If the worse that happens is that we drive him to hospitalization, well,
the universe has been done a favor.

Mark Morin:
I would like to see the [supposed] e-mail, where your life was
threatened. I think it NEVER HAPPENED. In any case, I DID *NOT* DO
ANYTHING LIKE THIS -- I never have done this to anyone (EVER). PLEASE POST
IT WITH HEADERS.
This is all absolutely insane. I am beginning to feel it is insane to
be in newsgroups altogether ! Cerainly the behavior of many of the
psychologists and "therapists" is sick. What, is each person making up a
lie? Is this the new tactic ?? Dan, Nancy, Peter, Mark, ... ETC.

I will have to admit this new tactic might work, BUT IS IT WORTH IT --
YOU SHALL LOSE YOUR SOUL. So many allegations. No proof required by the
"listening audience". It is aversive.

Thanks for being thoughtful. Let me note, though, that what you say is
almost identical to what I posted here a couple of years ago. And many
more who are presently disgusted with bradnee posted before or after
that.

Bradnee does not go away when he is ignored. And emails to him are
very unwise, because that gives him permission to email in return. Those
emails from him can be (and were, in my case) offensive and vulgar,
even when you are polite and helpful with him. He has particularly
enjoyed vicious and sexist attacks against women.

Ignoring him has, historically, resulted in his attacking innocents who came
here for help. His responses at times have been vicious and terribly
hurtful.

What works best, in my view, is to kill file him, so that you don't have to
see
the carnage of the flame war. Or ignore every post that concerns him. This
can be difficult, though, because he uses over 300 aliases to get around
killfiles and filters.

We get periods of peace and freedom from bradnee if nobody backs off.
But, the war will end soon, so please be patient and note that the same
people
who are attacking bradnee tend to be helpful, responsive, and polite with
everybody else.

You might also try concentrating on sppm, where flames are not permitted.

Stay around. I look forward to reading your ideas.

Welcome, Emily, and thanks for the suggestion, but it's been ignored as
many times as it's been made (which is a lot). The pros who respond to
Brad seem motivated to distract his fire. Personally, I'd prefer that
than how it was before, when Brad would attack innocent newcomers,
advice-seekers, etc. The best thing to do, if you want to enjoy
yourself here, is to get a killfile, and fill it up. Mark Morin was
kind enough to post pointers to a few; perhaps he could do so again
(Mark?).

Dan,
Your post is replete with lies and gross exaggeration and misrepresentation.
