Pond plants in the London area. UK

It's only 12 x 5 x 2 so I don't want it to turn into a jungle.
I would ideally like some reedy plants to line the sides and water lillies for
the middle but have been unable to find any suppliers in my area on the net.
Hope you can help me please.

My pond is up and running complete with plants and fish.
As I've moved my fish from my aquarium to the pond I was wondering if the
undergravel filter from the aquarium would work in the pond .Any suggestions ?
And Ian I do sign on regularly and download the latest posts but rather than
make a complete fool of myself by joining in and showing my ignorance I lurk a
lot and read the very good advice that is posted.;-)

Hi, First off ignorance only means you don't know.
Now to the undergravel filter, don't do it. They work great as a
mechanical filter but they become clogged with junk and used fish food.
Mechanical filters do not remove anything from the pond, they hold it
until you remove it or it rots. What is the ponds size and depth?

I'll try it without a filter for a while and see how it goes
My pond is above ground and is roughly 12x6 tapering down to 2 its shaped
roughly like ........well if you look at the map of the UK and lop Scotland off
whats left is its shape.
Its depth varies from 6 inches to 2 feet.
Its only been going properly for two weeks but I feel the theraputic effects
already.

a hard nights work ,, Sitting beside my little oasis of calm watching my fish
schooling about................Who needs shrinks??? This is free.....and its

Thanks for telling us about your pond. It sounds really cool. Ponds are
therapeutic. You ought to feel really proud that you built it yourself and
(that you came out of lurks-ville). LOL Good that you have that to go home
to, after those stressful nights.

I would think so. Try it and see if it works. There will certainly be
enougth air in you pond then.
