Vietnam Vets - A Bunch of Druggie Criminals

most Vietnam Vets like to give is that the American government didn't want to
win. What a bunch of bullshit!!! The real reason that the Police Action was
lost was because the troops didn't want to win. They were more concerned with
getting stoned and laid than being soldiers (and to a lesser extent) Marines.
But what can you expect? The baby boom generation was a spoiled rotten group.
Most Vietnam Vets had already given up on life, before coming in the service,
so it was no surprise that they would give up on the military and war, as
well. Most had already given up on high school and morality. So why not the
war, too?
While there is a slim percentage of decent Vietnam Vets (Al Gore for example)
most were criminals before they came in the service, most were criminals in
the service, and most were criminals after the service.
But the Vets and Vet Groups can't accept that they were scum before the
service. They all want to blame the service for their short comings.
But instead of looking towards LBJ and General Westmoreland for their faults,
they need to look in a mirror.

David Moore, the author of that tome was a Marine who got the old heave-ho
for conduct unbecomming. He's the same WUSS who a few months ago was bent out
of shape because I commented that I was told he was kicked out of the Marines.
He threw a hissy fit, demanding that I PROVE I had info anout him. He demanded
that I post his middle name (Dennis)
and his serial number. Twice I challenged him,
"do you REALLy want me to do that?" Twice he came back calling me a liar. When
I *did*
post his middle name and his number, he hasn't quit whining since. Crying like
a baby.
IN dealing with Mr. Moore's trolls, you gotta remember he is a bitter you
man who really didn't make the grade in the military.
He had to have his discharge upgraded. A concept that I still have STRONG
disagreement with. I believe your discharge SHOULD reflect the calibre of your
service.
When I served, an HONORABLE discharge like mine meant something. It wasn't a
diploma you could get by WHINING loudly! Yopu had to EARN it. To give it to a
cretin whose behavior was substandard demeans the service the rest of us gave
out nation.

You are right, to a point David. I hhave never seen your 201 file. I was
only TOLD about it from a sergeant from your old Marine unit. He **COULD** have
been lying. But given YOUR claims that I ran to Canada to escape service (even
though I served HONORABLY in the Air Force) I wasn't much given to question
what I was told. AND, then I was sent a SCANNED copy of the restraining order
from your ex-wife. Actually the affidavit in support of the RO. That COULD have

factored into my OPINION the things you TRIED to get me to help you do to

The posting entitled "Vietnam Vets-A Bunch of Druggie Criminals" was the
grossest example of stereotype I have ever seen! Whoever this person is
who wrote this obviously has never met some of the fine caliber of men,
(and women) who served in South East Asia, that I have.
Was there drug use by the men who served in Vietnam? Yes there was! But
at the same time there was an increased amount of drug use in our
country by civilians as well! The thing to remember is that it was a
different time in the country during Vietnam then ever before. Soldiars
are taken from America's sons and daughters...and America's sons and
daughters were a diferent group then what was used to fight any war in
the past.
And this Gen-Xer is forgeting a very important thing...the WWI WWII and
Korean vets he refered to may not have smoked grass etc...but Scotch and
Whiskey were used to dull the senses and calm the nerves streched to the
max in combat. Just a quick poll...how many of you older vets either had
or knew someone who had a canteen filled with hooch while serving in
Europe or the Pacific?
As far as the soldiars wanting to get laid...VD films were not invented
for Vietnam era soldiars. Soldiars in all times of combat have been
primarily 18-25 year old young men. I don't know too many men in this
age group that AREN'T trying to get a little loving!
You also mentioned something about the Nam Vets hanging up their jungle
fatigues and getting on with their lives like their Brothers and
Fathers...Read your hstory books pal! Although the vets before Nam saw
as many horrible things as the Nam Vets did, they were welcomed home
with open arms and treated like heros! (and rightly so!) The Vietnam
vets...after sacrificing as much as any man who ever served in combat
did...were greated with shouts of Baby Killer and by being spat on. Do
they have a right to be bitter? Damn Right they do!!!
All I am saying is ALL vets deserve respect and honor. If it weren't for
their efforts there may not be a forum for people like you to express
your opinion and for me to respond.
And to any vet reading this I would just like to say: Thank you, Welcome
