I have just finished reading (most of) Harry Browne's _Why the Best Laid
Investment Plans Usually Go Wrong_, and I find it very interesting. While I
am sure there has been some discussion of his proposed portfolios on the
net before, I am wondering if anyone knows if he has changed his
recommendations (with their strong emphasis on gold), which date from just
before the crash in '87.

Thanks,

John S

Harry Browne's close friend Terry Croxon still runs the Permanent Portfolio
family of funds. BY calling 800-531-5142 and asking for a prospectus,
you can see the current "recommendations." I seem to recall that
it is about 15% swiss francs, lighter on gold, and considerarbly
more complex than the recommendations in the book. THey
also run several other funds, including an aggressive growth
fund that they are proud of.
