Hi,

As some of you know we are moving from the Atatonic CSS framework to Twitter Bootstrap.

This will be done for the 0.9 release (as of yet unscheduled).

Part of this move to Bootstrap is that we move functionality and templates from mod_base to the new mod_base_site.
This new module, mod_base_site, will be a quite complete site on its own.
The idea is that you can build your site by overruling templates/css from mod_base_site, or by cloning mod_base_site into your own project.

For everyone upgrading to 0.9 there will be some work.

You will need to copy templates/css and to your own site and make some small adjustments.
For the source of the copy you will need a 0.8 version of Zotonic.

Soon I will be committing the (Work In Progress) mod_base_site.
This will affect everybody running sites on the 0.9dev (including me :)

The new mod_base_site will have a responsive design and adapts to the viewer's device.
It will optimize for desktop, tablet, smartphone or text (aka featurephone).

I will send another e-mail when I have done the commits.

Have you considered frameworks such as Foundation CSS which may provide a bit more flexibility, especially for mobile layouts?

I didn't consider Foundation CSS as such.

Arjan made a choice for Twitter Bootstrap and I followed him after hearing many good stories about that framework.

Having checked Foundation now, it also looks very good and I think both are quite similar.

Regarding the mobile layouts, we have a templating mechanism where you can add specific templates per device class.
This is useful when you want to serve optimized layouts and content for small screens.
